About the adventure

Hello! Welcome to Oyaras. This is my homebrew setting for dungeons and dragons 5e 2014. This game is for anyone who wants to explore a strange new world, face dangers and moral dilemmas, go through character growth and develop bonds with your fellow party members. This game has a central plot, but does leave room for player agency and roaming. I plan to mix in city/homebase dynamics with exploring exotic locales. The tower city of Iriesall, off the coast of the Shimmering Sea, is not a perfect place. It is wrought with crime, racism, poverty, terrorist attacks, and is kept under the oppressive thumbs of the religious Orders of Sybril and the Queen. Even so, the people find respite and joy in whatever they can. Famed retired adventurer and hero, Quinton Veilar, spends many evenings at the Sandbar - Inn and Tavern. There he tells his stories of his adventures with his adventuring group Emberwatch. Becoming fond of you, he has invited you all to his home to view his trophies. Rumblings under the city threaten to disrupt this evening of merry making. Are you prepared? The setting is high fantasy with some steampunk elements. It's a level 1-20 campaign(Milestone) with 3 arcs. The first arc ends around level 9, the second arc level 15, then the third arc starts at level 18. The idea is that each arc would have a fullfilling ending that can be an easy jumping off point for everyone, so each person can decide whether or not they want to continue.

About me

Hello, I am Brewer. I have been an avid fan of the fantasy genre since I was a child. I started playing D&D in 2017 when my sister bought a starter kit and invited everyone to play. We each took a turn GMing and I fell in love with it. As someone who wrote stories as a hobby, TTRPG's provided an excellent outlet for me to create worlds and stories to introduce my family and friends to. I prefer to run homebrew campaigns but I have dipped my toes into modules before. I love roleplaying and strategic gameplay. I love goofing around and I love intense and solemn moments.

Character creation

Creating your character

Level 1 character 1 common magical item Players will have all of the 2014 wizard's of the coast official content to choose from. I am familiar with quite a bit of 3rd party material and using those options can be discussed during our session zero or on our discord server. Each character will need to come up with a connection they have with Sir Quinton Zeilar to tie in with their backstory, as well as one or two other characters important to your character.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need Discord, Roll20 and a working microphone. Webcam is optional.
