About the adventure
This is an adventure about community, survival, and the things that go bump in the night. Season of Ghosts is a unique 4-book Adventure Path that takes us from 1st to 12th level. It’s widely considered one of Paizo’s best for its focus on NPCs and a singular, evolving location. We’ll be stepping away from the Inner Sea to explore the ancestries and cultures of Tian Xia in a period of Golarion's history that feels distinct and atmospheric. We will use the official Foundry module, with high quality maps, ambient sounds, and art for all townsfolk and monsters alike. As an avid Foundry user and data entry volunteer for the PF2e system on Foundry, I try to ensure the game runs smoothly. With a (relatively) module-lite set up, I know how most automation and tools work my game so we can fight monsters and not tech. This AP thrives on player choice and interaction with the townspeople of Willowshore. If you've been looking for a consistent seat to explore this mystery, I'd love to have you.

About me
I'm Rigo, from the distant southern lands of Chile. I'm an experienced Pathfinder 2e GM who loves this game way too much. While I'm drawn to crunchy mechanics, I enjoy roleplaying just as much, and firmly believe that these concepts are not opposed to each other, and I hope that my games can reflect that. In my spare time, I do some data entry work as a volunteer for PF2e's Foundry implementation, and so I'm very comfortable using it as the medium for my games.

Creating your character
Please read the Season of Ghosts Player's Guide before we begin. It is free to download and essential for grounding your hero in our setting. I highly recommend using one of the backgrounds found in the guide so your character has a personal stake in Willowshore's survival. Link to Player's Guide: https://downloads.paizo.com/SeasonofGhosts_PlayersGuide.pdf While you might have a character concept ready to go, I encourage you to keep an open mind as we talk to the rest of the group. The best parties are built together! We will establish our variant rules during Session 0 to ensure the game fits the group's playstyle. A note on art: If at all possible, please avoid using AI-generated images for your character. I have access to the official Character Gallery and NPC Core art modules; if you are having a hard time finding an image you like, I am happy to help you find the perfect fit.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
To ensure we can focus on the story and the action, please have the following ready: - A computer capable of running FoundryVTT in a browser (Chrome recommended) and a stable internet connection. - A discord account! After you sign up here on StartPlaying, you'll receive an invite link to my Discord server where our calls will happen. - For that reason, a working, clear microphone is required. We want to be able to hear you loud and clear! - If you have your own character art, please send it to me via Discord before the session. I can handle creating your token.
What Rigo brings to the table
I know the Pathfinder 2e rules inside and out, but I’m not a rules lawyer. I use my knowledge to keep the game moving and to help new players learn the system. I enjoy doing voices from time to time, so you can expect a bit of that! Certainly no professional voice actor though. Just casual fun! As a Foundry poweruser, I ensure the technical side of the game is as smooth as possible. I keep a light mod with some automation and quality of life improvements that is still small enough that I know exactly what every mod is doing. We'll spend little time fiddling with tech in-game, if any. We will of course be using the official premium FoundryVTT module for Season of Ghosts, so expect high quality maps, ambience, and art.
Homebrew rules
Most variant rules will be discussed and voted on during Session 0 to make sure they fit the group's playstyle. However, here are a few things I like to bring to the table: Massive Damage Protection: If a character has fewer than 20 Hit Points, treat their Hit Points as 20 when determining if their character dies from massive damage. Hero Point Cards: As an alternative to rerolling, you can spend Hero Points to use special cards with unique effects, such as staying at 1 HP instead of falling unconscious. I use the "PF2e Hero Point Deck Expanded" module, which I actually developed, featuring 52 of my own design, adding to the 52 official Paizo cards. Booster Pack Variant: I am very interested in using Team+'s "Booster Pack" variant rule. It adds a lot of flavor and utility to character progression without the bloat of Free Archetype. You can read the details here: https://theteamplus.us/cerapters-ramblings/ceras-wild-ride-1-booster-pack-feats/ Intelligent Retraining: To give your Intelligence modifier some extra utility, characters reduce the time it takes to retrain by half their INT mod (rounded up) per week spent retraining. Item Upgrading: I allow characters to upgrade their existing items via the Craft activity. This allows you to keep your favorite gear relevant by increasing the DCs of items that might have otherwise fallen behind as you level up. Non-Polyglot Intelligent PCs: For each additional language your ancestry would grant due to your Intelligence modifier, you can choose to become trained in a Lore skill instead.

How Rigo creates a safe table
Your comfort at the table is a priority. We will use Lines and Veils to establish boundaries before the first session, and I utilize the Safety Tools module in Foundry for an integrated X-Card system. This allows anyone to anonymously signal if a scene needs to be edited or skipped in real-time. It should go without saying, but this is an inclusive table. There is zero tolerance for bigotry, harassment, or hate speech of any kind. I am dedicated to maintaining a welcoming environment where everyone can focus on the story and have a great time.
