About the adventure
Welcome to the campaign, and thank you for your interest! This Dungeons & Dragons campaign is designed especially for children and teenagers who want to learn and practice Spanish in a fun, engaging, and safe environment. Through cooperative storytelling, roleplay, and problem-solving, players naturally use Spanish while enjoying a classic fantasy adventure. The focus is on communication, creativity, and confidence rather than perfect grammar, making language learning feel organic and enjoyable. The adventure is set in the town of Phandalin, a rich fantasy setting full of exploration and age-appropriate challenges. Sessions are carefully guided to ensure a positive, respectful, and supportive atmosphere, where every child feels comfortable participating. The game encourages teamwork, imagination, and critical thinking, while reinforcing Spanish vocabulary and speaking skills in context. Before the campaign begins, we will hold a free Session 0 with players (and parents, if desired). During this session, we will explain how the game works, discuss expectations, review content guidelines, and create or adjust characters together. Pre-generated characters will also be available for children who prefer to start playing right away. We use Foundry VTT for gameplay and Zoom or Discord for communication. No prior experience with D&D or Foundry is required—everything is explained step by step. Sessions include visual maps, music, and customized character tokens to keep players engaged and immersed. If you are looking for a creative, structured, and enjoyable way for your child to practice Spanish while building social and storytelling skills, this campaign offers a unique learning experience through play. I look forward to welcoming your family to the adventure.

About me
Hello there! I'm Paco, a Spanish teacher and avid player based in Thailand. I had the idea to blend my skills as a Dungeon Master with teaching Spanish to create immersive adventures. Imagine journeying through the Sword Coast while discussing the best inns in Neverwinter, hurling insults at pesky goblins, or debating with your DM over magical loot and leveling up your character. Now, you can sharpen your battleaxe and join me in this unique adventure where you'll not only hone your DnD skills but also elevate your Spanish speaking abilities.

Creating your character
All player characters will be created during Session 0, and we will build them directly within Foundry VTT. Characters may be created using any official D&D content, which you will have access to through Foundry and D&D Beyond. If you are new to Dungeons & Dragons, using the Player’s Handbook (PHB) is strongly recommended for character creation. All characters will begin at level 1, and their backgrounds will be discussed and agreed upon with the DM, while still allowing plenty of creative freedom.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All you need is a stable internet connection, a Zoom or Discord account, and a working camera and microphone. Characters will be created during Session 0, and you will receive all the details needed to join the game in Foundry.
What Pak brings to the table
In our adventure, we will use Foundry VTT as our virtual tabletop. Don’t worry if you’re not familiar with it—Session 0 will include a short tutorial to help you get comfortable with the platform. For voice communication, we will use Discord or Zoom. The final choice of tool will be agreed upon during Session 0. The maps used throughout the campaign are created by Mad Cartographer, and we will also use dynamic images and artwork designed by James RPG Art. You will be able to customize your in-game token with any image you like, and I will provide several artist-designed frames so you can personalize it further. We will also use music during the game to create a more immersive atmosphere. Any other details can be discussed during Session 0, which is completely free.

How Pak creates a safe table
During Session 0, we will discuss the campaign, group composition, player expectations, and any content warnings. We will also create characters for anyone who needs one and adjust any pre-generated characters that players may already have. In addition, I will provide several ready-to-play pre-generated characters in case you are undecided or simply want to jump straight into the adventure without spending time on character creation.
