About the adventure
A curse is afflicting everyone in Faerun who has ever been raised from the dead, which includes more than a few of Faerun's most notable figures! Its victims are wasting away, and all attempts to reverse the decay or end the curse have proved fruitless. The souls of the dead are being stolen and imprisoned within a powerful artifact. Only its destruction will free the trapped spirits and allow the dead to be resurrected once again. All the clues point to Chult, a mysterious land of dense jungles, rumbling volcanoes, and the overgrown ruins of long forgotten kingdoms. Below some of these ruins lies a deadly tomb. Entering the tomb is, almost certainly, a trap. Will you dare to defy death, and take the bait? Experience the unforgiving tropics of Faerun with thirty-year acting and gaming veteran Rob Taylor, custom maps, original scenic and character artwork, and atmospheric soundscapes! This homage to the legendary Tomb of Horrors for Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition is the perfect campaign for new and old players alike. With an old-school D&D feel and the most up-to-date and streamlined version of the rules in the decades long history of the game it presents challenges for the veteran player and the opportunity for new players to learn 5e starting at Level 1 and working through Level 11 or 12 characters over the course of multiple sessions that can even lead to a longer campaign! 💀 Earn Periodic Rewards: 💀🦖 After 5 Sessions: Original Full Body Digital Character Art, VTT Portrait and VTT Token 💀🦖 After 10 Sessions: Original Party Digital Art 💀🦖 After 15 Sessions: 4x6 Canvas Print of your character at the campaign location of your choice 💀🦖 At End of Campaign: A handcrafted custom commemorative character sheet of your character at campaign's end with new custom art. 💀🦖 Occasional other physical and digital rewards 💀🦖 (Please note some rewards can take 4-6 weeks to fulfil) 💀 Background music and combat sound effects if desired (soundscapes are mutable). 💀 Multiple pre-generated characters available at each session if needed, and an immersive, rebuilt character creation process for those who desire it.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Greetings! With 30+ years of experience as a player, GM, writer, actor and storyteller; experience running multiple TTRPG systems including D&D, Pathfinder, Maelstrom, AFF, Doctor Who RPG and MERP; and as the owner, head writer and primary artist at Eye Wonder Artistry & Games I like to prioritize collaborative storytelling over strict adherence to rules and emphasize the players as the protagonists and heroes at the center of the story. However, I'm certainly not a stranger to a more traditional dungeon crawl or a more mechanics heavy approach. My main goal is to make sure that my players get the experience that they want and that everyone is having fun. Whether you're looking for an extended campaign, a one-shot adventure or something in between and whether you're a beginning or experienced player, I'll tailor a game for your needs. At the end of each campaign I create commemorative character sheets for the players, complete with original character art.

Creating your character
At Session 0 we will choose as a group what character creation rules to follow as well as which variant and house rules to use in the campaign.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We'll be using Foundry VTT for this campaign and Discord for the voice channel. Once you join the campaign, I'll provide you with a link to my Discord server and assign you a role for the campaign so you can join the dedicated voice channel when we play, and access the information channels between games. Discord is also a free account if you don't already have it. All you need other than that is a microphone. Headphones are recommended, as we sometimes get sound echoes if the mic is picking up your computer audio. Some groups prefer to have webcams turned on, some prefer not to. You are welcome to have a webcam turned on during the game if you wish.
What The Rob of Wonder brings to the table
One of the perks of my games is an illustrated campaign guide, updated after each session (sometimes the illustrations take a bit longer, but the recaps are usually up within a couple of days!) An example from one of my other campaigns can be seen at https://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/share/PUeU9pz3JIRq I'll bring the adventure along with curated music and ambient atmosphere tracks, any maps and handouts necessary for the game, and decades worth of acting, improvisation, and character voice experience. Nobody should feel pressured to put on a voice if they are not comfortable doing so, but I'll enhance the immersion with voices so you're able to differentiate NPCs when they speak! At my table, the default is to go with the "Rule of Cool" (ie. narrative storytelling trumps strict intrpretation and application of the rules), but this is your game as a group, so I'm open to being as strict on rules as the group decides. I strive to set a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Dramtic tension can be a lot of fun too, but once an intense or serious scene comes to an end, I encoutage breaking the tension either by jumping to a lighter hearted moment, or taking a brief break to reset and make sure everyone is ready to continue. Most of all, what I try to provide is a few hours of escapism and fun, so communication is important, and I'll check in frequently to make sure that the group is gelling and people are getting what they want out of the game. We can always adjust as long as the group is in agreement!
Homebrew rules
We'll begin with the 2024 D&D Rules and add in optional and variant rules from other sources as agreed upon by the group at Session 0 and revisited each time we go up a tier (or at mutually agreed upon points).

How The Rob of Wonder creates a safe table
Links will be provided to a document containing the agreed upon Lines & Veils after Session 0. Safety tool modules will be installed on the Foundry VTT for player use during sessions. I am always available between sessions for aftercare and addressing concerns or problems at the table and will always keep any concerns anonymous if desired. I encourage feedback including Stars & Wishes between sessions.
