About the adventure
This is a campaign that I'm looking to run mostly to show people how deep and interesting dragons can be while having a fun campaign. I love running games for both new players and veterans alike, though for different reasons. I will balance encounters, Puzzles, and socials scenarios based on whom of which makes up the party. though no matter party composition, I do my best to integrate every PC into the story (even if you can't fully tell Right away) or at the minimum give them their own kind of Arc or plotline. For Your Information, I on average do have a combat at least every other session, or that's how it went with nearly every campaign I've ran so far. (I honestly don't know if that counts as combat heavy or not) Plus I run those combats in tale spire with custom minis for every player which helps keep those combats smooth and fun. as a DM I prioritize the fun and safety of the table over personal preference or individual gripe (every table has moments where someone will behave in a way that baffles the dm. not in an angry way just in a "why the hell are you doing this?" way) If there are any further things you'd wish to talk over before a signing up or a session 0 could occur please message me to talk it over and we'll see if this game is right for you. now here's the lore description below. In the realm of Faerun, an ocean away from the places you know is a land where monsters roam ever more present, ruled or abated by whichever powerful dragon roosts within the region. just because a region is the territory of a dragon does not mean that dragon is a consistent variable. the dragon Fortissax controls a small territory enveloping the town of Feltver and has for longer than the town has been there yet He didn't pose an issue to the towns creation, that is because Fortissax is a deep dragon whom wishes to slumber in his caves while only leaving to hunt for food (usually wildlife) and when his territory and/or Lair are threatened. therefor some locals include a larger possibility of the Dragon within the region to impede and/or aid your intentions, the ancient blue dragon Vimnegalis has a large territory spanning the entire minor kingdom of Azure Regalis and this dragon interacts with the royalty of this kingdom regularly and if needed can even mobilize their army if she wishes (meaning that when she decides to fly down from her lair and vaporize a towns worth of people, no one does anything.) Yet the coastal town of Vastport is considered extremely safe because itself and the surrounding regions are guarded by metallic dragons each acting as a guardian, ruler, or caretaker with the primary focus of improving the lives of the people within their reach, the Bronze Dragon Aenea spends most of her days minding the weather of the coast and fending off ocean monsters that try to attack ships or shore. (which also caused most land dwelling monsters to avoid the area. hence there not being much work for adventurers looking to slay monsters.)

About me
I'm a GM looking to create some fun/interesting story with whomever wishes too.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Character Creation (including model design) will be done during session zero to try and flesh out a character as well as possible and integrate them to the world as best as we can, to give a maximum amount of depth for interaction between the world and PC. I do have some hard rules for character creation though. No Bloodhunter (it's not well balanced and I'd have to write in circles just to keep you somewhat useful) No Races with a permanent fly speed (permanant flight not only breaks the balance of the game, it also damages the experiance of the table, therefor, not allowed)
What to expect
Preparing for the session
at the minimum you'll need to join my discord server (to communicate easily and have sessions) and my dnd beyond campaign (to share my books and materials, while allowing for an easy method of transparency between player and dm.) if you are using a laptop/pc download the guest version of tale spire off of steam so you can interact with the 3d battle maps directly. the guest version is free and I've already purchased the seats to allow you to make full use of the system. (if you can't do this part then the battle map can be streamed into Discord so you can still interact with the map, though indirectly.)
What DarkSamuraiV brings to the table
in this campaign I will be using some character voices and background music. (though I'm still new to the discord bot, so I have some issues with it at times) I tend to stick to rules as written on average, Yet I'm willing to bend rules when the circumstance applies. I make encounters to be tactical or intense without just throwing overpowered monsters and whatnot (this is what a lot of my players enjoy the most out of my games) for combat we will be using Tale Spire, a 3d map engine on steam (there is a guest version so any players won't have to pay to use it) in tale spire we'll be using battle maps of my own making with each player getting their own digital models designed in hero forge at no additional cost to the players. I go through great lengths to ensure that each players decisions have lasting consequences whether bad or good, and if a pc has a drastic change in story I'll make sure that is displayed mechanically as well (even if i have to homebrew Spells, subclasses, or items. especially items, they take me a while to make but I love doing it.)
Homebrew rules
possible homebrew rules will be discussed during session 0 to ensure everyone is alright with using them. the following are the ones I plan to talk over. Bonus action potions, Grazing hits, Crunchy crits, Life or Glory, and proficiency required for help.

How DarkSamuraiV creates a safe table
I will discuss with each player what they are and aren't comfortable with either during session 0 or individually (player preference), if an event is gonna happen that one or more players wish to not hear narrated we will simply do a fade to black and move on. There will be set breaks both 1 1/2 hour and 3 hours into each session, with a debrief after the session to check on everybody
