About the adventure

Season of Ghosts is a year-long horror campaign for Pathfinder Second Edition set in the haunted town of Willowshore, where a joyful festival to honor the dead goes catastrophically wrong. You wake up in a fog-drenched forest with gaps in your memory, only to find your hometown cursed, cut off from the outside world, and quietly overrun by spirits, monsters, and strange omens. Across four seasons (summer through spring), you and your party must defend the town, uncover the truth behind the Willowshore Curse, and decide what you’re willing to risk to save the people you love. This is a campaign for players who enjoy folklore horror, investigation, and character-driven drama as much as tactical combat. In this table, you’ll play local heroes (or uneasy outsiders) woven into the fabric of Willowshore from session one, with bonds to families, rivals, and community traditions that the curse will slowly twist. Expect creepy festivals, haunted shrines, strange seasonal rituals, and the slow realization that something older than the town is watching every move. Safety tools and clear content warnings are in place from the start, so the game can lean into horror without blindsiding anyone’s boundaries. Your GM is an experienced professional who ran games full-time from 2018 to 2021, has been interviewed by Polygon, and has written officially for Paizo, bringing both deep system mastery and a storyteller’s eye for pacing and theme. With a PhD-level background in narrative and game studies, sessions are tuned for strong arcs, meaningful player choices, and horror that lands emotionally rather than just jump-scaring you with hit points. You can expect clear communication, organized prep, and a focus on collaborative storytelling. The goal is to make Willowshore feel like a living place whose fate genuinely responds to your decisions. Newer Pathfinder 2e players are welcome; rules support and gentle onboarding are built into the early sessions so you can focus on character and atmosphere while learning the system. This table is designed for adults who want a reliable, late-night game after work or after the kids are in bed: 2 hours, once a week, same night and time, with a consistent group. Seats are capped to keep spotlight time high and to make sure every character’s ties to Willowshore matter in the unfolding mystery. If you’ve ever wanted a long-form ghost story where your character’s relationships, fears, and choices shape whether a town survives its own legends, this is the campaign—and GM—for you.

About me

My name is Christopher Rondeau and I am the owner of Skald's Tale Entertainment. For the last 4 years, I have been a professional GM full-time. I have been featured in Polygon and Major Spoilers Entertainment, created a handful of podcasts and streams, and received a Masters that specialized in narrative arc in collaborative storytelling. Not only do I provide a solid story, I work with you to create a character that goes through natural growth and gets a satisfying ending. Looking forward to gaming with you.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Before session one, players only need two free accounts and a quick tech check: Demiplane for character tools and rules reference, and Roll20 as the virtual tabletop where maps, tokens, and dice live. Everything is browser-based, so no paid software is required—just a stable internet connection, a mic, and preferably wired or good-quality headphones to keep the late‑night table clear and focused.

What Skald's Tale Entertainment brings to the table

Games at this table are relaxed, conversational, and focused on giving your character meaningful choices rather than on performance or funny voices. The tone leans into spooky folklore and small‑town drama, but the play style is approachable: players talk in their own voices, describe what their characters do and feel, and the mechanics step in when the outcome is uncertain. The rules are there as a framework everyone can trust, but they bend when a smart or stylish idea would clearly improve the scene. Rule of Cool is the tiebreaker, not the enemy. Expect a GM who keeps things organized, explains options clearly, and works with you to make your character’s goals, backstory, and instincts matter in how the story of Willowshore unfolds week to week.

Safety

How Skald's Tale Entertainment creates a safe table

Table safety is explicit and ongoing: before play, everyone completes Monte Cook’s Consent Checklist and a short Lines & Veils form, and we review those together in Session 0 so the group knows what’s on‑limits, what’s fade‑to‑black, and what’s off the table. During sessions, X, N, and O cards are handled via private messages (DMs) so players can quietly pause, adjust, or green‑light content; every game ends with a brief check‑in to make sure people can step away from the horror feeling heard, grounded, and okay.
