About the adventure
Iconic one shot, that I ran before. Great introduction to Call of Cthulhu. A must play. I remix things a bit for extra roleplay opportunity if the party "has the juices". Not your standard 2-3 hours one shot. Could take 4-5 hours. We play Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition. Open to all levels of play. In particular, new players/complete beginners are welcome. I ran it before with DnD experts and a complete newbie to TTRPG and everyone had a blast! I live in Australia but have slight accent as French is my native language. The game action takes place in Massachusetts US in the 1930s. Handouts provided to help immerse.

About me
🎲 Find Your Next Adventure! 🎲 Looking for a game to join? Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or a curious newcomer, here's a list of TTRPG sessions hosted by an experienced DM with years of storytelling magic. Games are typically run on Sundays during daytime (Sydney time) to accommodate Australian players or anyone keen to sync with this timezone! 🌏 🛡️ About the DM 🎓 Veteran Dungeon Master recently on StartPlaying.Games. 🌟 Specializes in immersive storytelling, and running solid plots. ⚖️ Playing mostly RAW with few house rules. Sometimes RoF. 🏠 Based in Australia, Sydney. French is native, slight accent when talking English. 🛡️ About Warhammer Fantasy RP Warhammer 1st Ed is my "main game" on Startplaying. Starting my fifth run of The Enemy Within. I use the 1st Edition rules with fan made upgrades as well as borrowing from later editions. In case you have no idea, it is a d100 systems with modifiers. You roll under. Combat is deadly. Magic and firearms can misfire. In terms of lethality and epic - is similar to Pulp Cthulhu. The campaigns as written were influenced by Call of Cthulhu, the miniature Warhammer Fantasy, Mounty Python and draw from the Holy Roman Empire in a fantasy Renaissance. In terms of "vibe", these two videos on YouTube are a good teaser. Deadly combat with advantage to armor and experience, solid universe and backstory, German late medieval vibe, political perils. - Brigands vs Knight https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVLJ4NUQz6I - The Doom of Kazavar (min 4:12 onwards) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdrCeraprBo 📅 Online games to Join: - I focus on running horror, intrigue or Whodunnit when I run a One shot adventure. It can also be a playtest of a new D&D mechanics. Indeed, I recently backed Voidsea that introduces a lot of new rules and is meant to finalize in 2027. Perfect for quick thrills or trying something new! - I run short campaigns as well, typically 5-8 sessions. We are busy adults after all! These can be of any type. So read the description as I tend to run different games styles, sometimes "experimental". - Epic Campaigns, I am running a D&D 2024 campaign in person on a fortnightly basis with friends. The other week I am on Startplaying online and running Warhammer 1st Edition.

What to expect
Preparing for the session
Decent mic with push to talk, no echo. We will use Owl Bear Rodeo for maps (is free, better you open a free account but not strictly needed). The rolls will be done on discord. You can post memes and type in the discord chat. Read your handout (1 page) and have a think about how to have interesting RP. Printing your character sheet or displaying it on a separate screen is strongly recommended.
What Morbleue brings to the table
- I have been running games for the last 3 decades. Mostly face to face but run games online since lock-down. I could charge more but choose not to. I still see this as a hobby, the contribution helps me buy resources to provide a good quality game and play at other GMs tables online. - I do some character voices and noises. I try and set the mood and have some historical accuracy. The stance on nationalities, gender and races are modern. - If you have Spotify, join a jam for atmospheric music (optional on the day). vtt: https://www.owlbear.rodeo/ no download needed runs on browser discord: https://discord.gg/bAgu59fUSk
Homebrew rules
There is a few simplifications around house rules that are listed on discord but generally is RaW (rules as written)

How Morbleue creates a safe table
We do a break half way. Take more if you need to (just write brb in the chat). If you are uncomfortable, send me a PM in session on discord, i am reactive. The way i run Call of Cthulhu is MA15. The horror is atmospheric with Lovecraftian / eldritch imagery.
