About the adventure

After a long journey by train up the Atlantic Coast, travelers arrive in the quaint little town of Edrys. Well known for the beauty of its coastline and mountainous surroundings, the hamlet nestled at the mouth of the valley is now enshrouded in shadows and mist. A chill, like a breeze ahead of a storm embraces the region. A large and ostentatious hotel sits at the heart of the central plaza in town, and stands tall looking out over the other buildings. Formerly a manor house belonging to the town's founder, now the old colonial manse provides accommodations for those visiting the area. Wrought iron letters set into the frame of the entrance announce it as "The Hotel Persephone" before the doors open to reveal the gilded interior. Oil lamps illuminate the lobby instead of electric bulbs; giving an almost living, breathing effect to the light of the room. In the night, whispers come from the darkness that covers the town in the sun's absence. Words spill forth from the whispering voices, just soft enough to be impossible to comprehend. And when the sun comes up, someone has gone missing.

About me

Ever since I was young stories about epic quests, brave (and sometimes not-so-brave) heroes triumphing over fearsome creatures and dreadful foes have mesmerized me. Finding out about tabletop role-playing games changed the way I saw fantasy. The change from static narration to being involved in the world and story blew me away. Since that first session on my friend's back porch in the summer heat, I have played and run several systems, campaigns lasting several years of weekly games, and experienced all kinds of worlds. So far I have introduced over 2 dozen new players to Dungeons and Dragons and Shadowrun, and I would love to bring this experience to as many new players as I can. My campaigns include things like fully soundtracked adventures, all maps custom made by me, and a loose, friendly atmosphere at the table. I am available for specific game requests in addition to my posted offerings. I can run games in various fantasy settings, sci-fi, cyberpunk, and space operas. If I do not know the system you want to use, I can study it prior to game start, I am always happy to learn a new system!

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will be done at session 0, along with our discussion on Lines & Veils. Characters will be created in FoundryVTT, and we will be using the standard rules for Call of Cthulhu 7th edition.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a Discord account for communication, and a web browser. Please also read over the Quickstart Rules for Call of Cthulhu if you are not familiar with the system yet. You can find the Quickstart Guide here: https://www.chaosium.com/cthulhu-quickstart/?srsltid=AfmBOoqgMXCkMm52pnONIYFVUbMtrZd2my1rI8yq56BDzRQqGmnWUQLm

What Tantris brings to the table

Ambient music that fits the vibes, unique voices for NPCs, and a focus on telling a good story with the players instead of focusing on driving things to a pre-determined ending. This is what I promise and provide at my table.

How Tantris creates a safe table

I will send out a link to a Lines & Veils document prior to session 0, and it will be taken into consideration as each session is prepared. Aftercare happens in the form of conversation and discussion as a group, with one on one conversations happening as necessary.
