About the adventure

Centuries ago, the dwarves were driven from the underground city of Arkenhelm. Since then, the lost treasures of Arkenhelm have become legends. Countless adventurers and scholars have searched for the location of the lost city. Nobody alive knows what happened there or how to find it again. Or maybe not? A map has been found, hidden in ancient elven texts. You have been recruited as part of a secret expedition to find the city, learn what happened, and recover the city's fabled riches. But secrets have a way of getting out. Dangerous and powerful enemies are looking for the map, looking for you. Can you survive long enough to unravel the mystery? What starts as a treasure hunt will soon expand into an adventure with consequences for more than just your party. You and your team of adventurers will fight enemies, solve mysteries, and (hopefully) save the day. This is a classic D&D adventure complete with dragons, dungeons, undead, goblins, magic swords, evil wizards, and heroic adventurers (that's you). It's great for beginners and veterans alike.

About me

My father taught me to play D&D when I was a little kid and I've loved RPGs my whole life. I love getting behind the DM screen (virtually) and making space for people to tell great stories in a fun and interactive game environment.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character Creation Rules - -- D&D 2024 rules using standard point buy for stats -- Characters will start at level 3 -- HP is fixed per level -- Classes, subclasses, backgrounds, species, and starting equipment can be selected from following sourcebooks - Player's Handbook 2024 - Heroes of Faerun - Eberron: Forge of the Artificer sourcebooks If there is something else you want to use from a 2014 rulebook, let me know and we can find a way to make it work.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

To prepare for the first session you will need -- Web browser -- Microphone/headset -- Webcam -- Reliable internet connection -- Discord account for chat and audio -- Sqyre account to access the Foundry virtual tabletop We'll work together prior to the first session to help create your character and make sure you have access to Discord and Foundry.

What Reven XI (Kevin) brings to the table

I provide the infrastructure for online play, including -- Discord server and voice channels -- Foundry virtual tabletop -- VTT rulebook modules for D&D 2025 core rulebooks As a dungeon master, my job is to -- make sure every player at the table has a chance to share in the spotlight. -- narrate and arbitrate the outcomes of the player actions within the rules of the game. -- provide accents and funny voices for NPCs. -- run smooth, fast paced combat. -- create an environment for everyone to have fun and express themselves. I measure my success by how much time my players spend smiling, laughing, and enjoying themselves during the session.

Homebrew rules

In general, I prefer rulings over rules and I like players to be creative. If your wizard wants to cast Cryoballs instead of Fireballs, we will find a way to make ideas like that work.

Safety

How Reven XI (Kevin) creates a safe table

Like characters, players have their own backstories. My job is to make sure that, whatever your background, this is a fun safe table. To do that I use the following safety tools -- Lines and Veils form prior to session 0 -- Stars and Wishes after every session to provide feedback on the game -- X, N, and O cards integrated into the virtual tabletop software I also have strict rules regarding discussion at the table -- no politics, no religion, no current events -- nothing rude or mean -- no racist, sexist, ableist, homophobic, transphobic, or other offensive language -- my games will NEVER include content related to sexual abuse.
