About the adventure

Every year, on the tenth of Nightal, the villagers of Womford organize a large banquet in honor of their patron goddess Chauntea. What started out as a small reunion between neighbors has turned into the most important event of the year: the Womford Pie Contest! You and your fellow adventurers are passing through when you learn that chicanery is afoot. Baron Harrick of Ironford asks you if your stalwart band of heroes can investigate a local tragedy (one of the bakers' ovens has undergone a tragic demise!), promising to reward you all with all the pie you can eat. Who could refuse that? But can you save the festival day for this small town and its inhabitants, or will the crust be a bust? Only you can decide.

About me

I have been playing (mostly DMing) tabletop roleplaying games since roughly 1985 and have never found an activity that I enjoy more. Not just a D&D aficionado (though I have played every edition of that game), I have significant experience with at least 20 roleplaying systems, ranging from sci-fi to horror. A former teacher, I excel at describing settings, explaining rules, and making those at my table comfortable. I try to keep things appropriately serious, when the situation calls for it, but mostly I aim to make sure everyone's smiling and having a good time, so expect to laugh at my table. Though I prefer to play in person, I have run and played in several online games and know how to make sure the technology keeps up with the fun of the game. I can't wait to see some new faces at the table!

Preparing for the session

Roll20 accounts should be made before we start. Nothing else is required.

What Oliver brings to the table

This is a Rule of Cool, mostly Theater of the Mind adventure. I will do voices and encourage players to roleplay as much as possible. Be ready to interact with a town full of people who are eager to chow down on pie. Don't let them be disappointed!

How Oliver creates a safe table

I use Lines and Veils and digital X cards. I will spend a few minutes making sure everyone is comfortable with the safety systems before we start.
