About the adventure

This game takes place in the world of Easier where most of my DnD games take place. This is a world defined by medieval politics, dying magics and rising philosophies that dictate the age and ages to come. In this game you will be taking part of the Fencing Guilds which supply warriors for higher. But unlike normal mercenaries these warriors they are for the court and to deal with problems armies cannot. For money, for glory and for honor these warriors duel in the court rooms of nobles to represent their benefactors. They take contracts to delve into dungeons to retrieve lost items that can change the balance of power for the continent. These people are heroes, villains, debutants, drunkards, knights, artists, tradesman, burgers, wizards and sorcerers. Everyone has stake in the guild the question is how much is yours?

About me

Hello I am Dennis Koonce. I have been playing and GMing TTRPGs for almost 9 years now more so running on 10 so probably not as long as some of the other people here, but I think I do a good job at trading experience for my storytelling. I am a short story writer and I'm at the point of finishing my first book. I take a lot of time when it comes to my world-building to give players the best experience possible. I love world-building and creating stories that include the characters of the players. I have played and read tons of games from the deep grimdark of the Wrath and Darkness 40K system to the vast and infinite imagination it takes to run a My Little Pony adventure module for 5E for my niece. So, when it comes down to it I have a huge experience in GMing and playing in and out of my comfort zone. All the settings I run will in some way be related to the world that I write my books in mainly because I feel like that creates a more natural history for my world than something that's 100% written out. Yeah, the end result probably could be the same but it's the story to the end that really matters in my mind. I am the guy who likes to prioritize the rule of cool most of the time unless it becomes super egregious.

Character creation

Creating your character

Before session zero players will work on their character backgrounds before we actually get into building the character in roll 20. All players will need to present 1 need, 1 wish and 1 rival into their character backgrounds for later use in the game

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Roll20 and Discord will be our primary means of play.

What Dennis brings to the table

We will utilize rule of cool for a lot of things and I will be providing the supplement that will go with this game. We will be utilizing 2014 DnD 5E rules.

Homebrew rules

Combat will have a revamp through the Steel and Scholarship supplement what will help with the atmosphere of dueling, challenges and political intrigue.

Safety

How Dennis creates a safe table

A consent form will be issued out to players to fill. I request you do not fill out the name or personal information on there so that when I post them to the discord everyone has the yes's and no's of everyone else. A brief will be given before the campaign starts on expectations and limits everyone has and after the session we will be doing a debrief to talk about what happened and any discrepancies during the game time.
