About the adventure
Brewmaster Kindleglow is in dire straits. While expanding his cellar, he accidentally unleashed a horde of giant rats upon his workforce. Now, the cellar is off limits, endangering the entire operation. A bounty has been posted, and your newly formed party of intrepid adventurers decided to come collect. This is the ultimate 1st level adventure for players absolutely new to D&D and roleplaying games in general. Explore a short dungeon, learn to fight the dangers within, and uncover hidden treasures. You'll come out the other side with a newfound understanding of the game, and hopefully yearn for more.

About me
Hello there, why don't you come out of the cold and join an old mountain-dweller at the fireplace. I like to run cinematic, narrative-first stories, where players actions and relations matter, and personal stories are shaped by and in turn shape the world they inhabit. I love onboarding new players into the hobby, and seeing characters grow from nobodies into heroes of the realm. The world you play in is a living, breathing thing, where official and 3rd-party modules get interwoven with players background and my own designs to offer a compelling framework for sandboxing. I've been into fantasy worlds and RPGs games ever since I can remember. Books, videogames, (miniature) tabletop games were my happy place. One faithful day, almost 10 years ago, I finally picked up the mantle of DM and have since been running games for friends, colleagues and acquaintances both online and in person. Looking forward to telling a story with you.

Creating your character
Character creation is NOT part of this oneshot. This is intended to get you up to speed and into playing the game as fast as possible. There is a pool of >20 full-fledged Level 1 heroes to choose form. You are of course free to prepare your own character if you feel more comfortable that way. Please have your character ready for the session. You can use tools like D&D Beyond to help you. In General: ⚖️ 2024 rules take priority 🎲 Abilities: Standard Array, Point Buy, or Group Roll Array (if the group chooses so in session 0) 📚 Sources: PHB + DMG + most official, non setting-specific expansion books as well as MCDM products.

Preparing for the session
Before session 📢 Join the Discord 🖥️ Create a Foundy VTT account on The Forge. Link can be found in the discord channel. If new to the platform, please skim the basics at least. We will learn through play, but a fundamental understanding of the UI goes a long way.
