About the adventure

Throughout history, Vaesen and humans lived in harmony. Unable to be seen, unless it was their will, Vaesen helped humans in a variety of ways. Whether it was by helping them endure cold winter nights with the warmth of enchanted music, or making sure that they families were safe during wildfires Vaesen were the supernatural beings that made life magical for humans. But now, in the 19th century of the mythic north something has changed, and the Vaesen are no longer the friends they once were. This introductory game throws you into a group of investigators that are trying to figure out the mystery of an abandoned castle in the town of Upsala. Through gameplay you will discover the world of the mythic north, the nature of Vaesen all while you learn how to play the game. Experience the horror, mystery and adventure as you and your friends try to figure why those who enter the castle are never seen again.

About me

I'm a theater kid with a big gaming nerd streak and a love for sci-fi. I love really getting to know people and I think gaming is one of the best ways to do that. I love making people feel at-ease and welcome and always try to make others laugh. I like to collaborate with my players so that they have a fun and have an experience that they will remember. I like immersing players with custom music, visuals, and descriptions that make the world feel real. I work really hard to make sure that my everyone has a fun time and leaves excited to play again.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will be using pre-generated characters to help us get into the action quickly!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need to: 1) go to The Forge (https://forge-vtt.com/) and sign up for a free account. The Forge is a hosting service for my Foundry VTT server. 2) join my discord server so we can talk and you can get the pre-generated characters 3) use a microphone AND a webcam. It's hard enough to engage with others while playing online. Having your webcam on helps not only me see how you're reacting to the game, but helps others also engage with you.

What Gus brings to the table

1) A welcoming table for everyone! 2) Curated ambient music to get you in the mood and fully immersed 3) Polished visuals including customized splash page, images as well as published maps, images and handouts 4) Unique memorable and immersive characters that you can engage with 5) An exciting introductory adventure that introduces you to the world of Vaesen and the Mythic North I cater to what the players want to do, within the game of course, but try to make sure that everyone has fun. I want to make sure everyone has a chance to shine and tell the story of your character the way you want.

Safety

How Gus creates a safe table

Before the game we will use the Deck of Player Safety to identify content that you do not want. During the game we'll use integrated tools within foundry using X, N, & O cards. We'll also take a break half-way through and at player's request in case you need to step back for a minute. After the game I'll be around for a debriefing to talk about the game and help process
