About the adventure
One of the most influential British writers of Supernatural fiction, M R James wrote deeply macabre and atmospheric tales, laced with a pleasing terror. "Casting the Runes" is an RPG which perfectly captures the Jamesian style and allows the players to step into the mysterious and frightful world encapsulated in his ghostly tales. Join me then, if you will, among the dusty tomes and dreaming spires as we step beyond what we think we know and into the world of Casting The Runes. No prior knowledge of the Casting the Runes RPG or the Gumshoe engine upon which it is based is required.

About me
I have been a Games Master since the mid-1980s, during which time I have run numerous different RPGs and rule systems. I like systems that are smooth, quick to learn, and easy to play while still feeling polished and fleshed out. I have written RPG material professionally for the AGE Creator's Alliance, Frightshow Classics and my own indi RPG company "Gethsemane Games". Creating your character
A selection of pregenerated characters will be provided for you to choose from.
This is an adventure for 3 to 5 Edwardian Investigators of the supernatural. Pre-generated characters are provided, but players familiar with the rules may bring their own characters built on 22 investigative and 60 general ability points. You do not need experience with Casting the Runes or the Gumshoe system upon which it is based to play this game.
