About the adventure

When the sky first went dark, they thought a storm was coming; but there was no rain. By day four the crops were wilting, by day eight bolts of lightning cracked the earth and set the dry fields aflame. When the neighbouring villages visited they complained that the water and food stores may run out. "Three months! I give it three months and we'll all starve!" the elders said. And so, a truce was made with the five neighbouring villages. Their best and bravest would go seek out the gods and negotiate with them to save the land. Time is of the essence, and the fate of your friends, family, and maybe the world as you know it is in your hands. You can expect: - High fantasy homebrew setting - Story driven and Roleplay focussed (but with a decent mix of combat) - Character backstory integration - Immersive music - A Safe and Accepting Environment for those with disability, neurodivergence, & members of the LGBTQIA+ community

About me

I fell in love with TTRPGS when I was 12. I knew absolutely nothing when I sat down to my first game, and truthfully, neither did our GM, but a fight with some goblins, a few dice rolls, and a lot of laughs later, I was hooked. I’ve spent many hours since trawling over books, making maps, statting monsters, collecting the marvellous math rocks, and creating treasures that could excite and entice my players. My games are usually player focussed, giving my players a platform to be a hero or a villain. I love creating a game where everyone gets a chance to be in the spotlight, and can share their highs and lows with their party members. I try to find a balance between roleplay and combat, where the decisions of the players have very real impacts on the setting they are in. From the kobold beggar they help on the way to market, to the gold coins they pick pocketed at the tavern the night before, who knows what small acts can sway the landscape? I strive to create immersive and memorable experiences where everyone can express themselves, and feel at home at my table.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will make characters together in session 0 for the campaign. Stats will be rolled in session 0 on camera, using real dice, not digital dice. This is to make sure there is a fair roll curve, as digital dice tend to have a slightly lower average roll. We are starting at level 3. You can use the starting equipment or the gold option. As you’re from small villages, you won’t have access to items above Rare rarity rating, so if going for the gold option please keep this in mind when selecting items.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Please ensure you have a Discord and Roll20 account for play, as we will do audio and video through Discord, and rolls and play through Roll20.

What Rebecca brings to the table

As a GM, I love trying to immerse players in the game as much as possible. So in the interests of creating a memorable and enjoyable experience for everyone, we will have: - NPC Voices - Ambient music - Original maps - Character backstory integration - Custom items and monsters

Safety

How Rebecca creates a safe table

We will meet for Session 0 as the first session of the campaign, to build characters, and ensure everyone is on the same page moving forwards. A link will be sent to a form where you can fill in your lines and veils (hard and soft limits for the game) during the Session 0. Please be as detailed as possible, so that I can avoid any possible triggers or material that may make you uncomfortable. Sometimes though, we miss things when addressing lines and veils in the beginning. For this I use the X Card system - if something comes up in the campaign and you don’t feel comfortable, put an X into the chat, and we will move away from that subject matter immediately. Breaks are going to be scheduled into every session. These breaks will not detract from the session time you have payed for. A 3 hour session, might actually run for 3 hours, and 20 minutes including the break. After each session, I will reach out personally to each player to determine that they feel safe with the session content, and safe to advance to the next session. This will be done over message, but if needed a player can request a call as well over discord.
