About the adventure
300 years ago the trees grew so tall that mountains now barely crest above them. While much was lost and the world was irrevocably changed, there is adventure to be found in the wake of disaster. As a player you will take up the role of a wildsailor, a member of a colorful crew sailing across the tops of these titanic trees on a vessel of your own design. What post on the ship will you take? What kind of being are you? Whether you want to be an alchemist moth-person, an animated shipwreck with a talent for navigation, or a gunslinging humanoid cactus, there’s a myriad of options to choose from. This game supports cooperation, narratively driven play, and tense moments of conflict. You and your fellow players will be the driving force behind the direction of the campaign, deciding on hooks, paths, and objectives to pursue. Play will happen within a custom sandbox with minimal lore to learn at first, but will reward investigation and discovery. I will be balancing a dangerous world with the exhilaration of the journey and connections forged along the way; aiming for a sometimes dire, sometimes lighthearted tone. Session zero is free!

About me
Hello all! I am Grey, a GM who has been playing in (but mostly running) games since 2017. I have years of experience running several systems and really enjoy exploring other rulesets and worlds. I’m a growing writer and strong advocate of collaborative storytelling, always emphasizing being a safe space and trying to create a tailored experience that best fits the particular table.

Creating your character
While game materials and aids will be available before the campaign begins, character creation will be done in a session zero. The system benefits from collaborative decisions and connection while building characters, along with requiring cooperation and agreement when making the crew’s ship. My goal is to make the process as easy as possible. Any options from the core rulebook will be open as an option. All player characters will be starting fresh as Young Gun freeform characters. Also, a small requirement I will be using is for each player to write a two (or more) paragraph background for their character and a creating prior relationship with at least one other player character after/during session zero.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Once players decide to play and join the game, they will need to join my GMing Discord, read the short game handouts available there, at least skim the game ruleset also provided there, and fill out a small player survey/content consent Google form. If they have any questions or requests, the best way to reach me is through Discord.
What Grey brings to the table
I focus on characters first storytelling, which means I prioritize the characters’ and players’ experience in the game and narrative over what rules, planned plotlines, or other factors arise. I try to make everyone at the table feel comfortable with and excited by everything the campaign presents. I want the world of the game to feel alive, but also never sacrifice fun/impact for realism. While I do run more narratively focused games, I do not shy away from crunch or combat. I use voices, music, and images to try and enhance immersion for my players. I maintain flexibility and openness to feedback, as well as prioritizing consistent and clear communication.
Homebrew rules
I do not plan to have any homebrew rules for this campaign.

How Grey creates a safe table
I try to preface sessions (and sometimes scenes) I suspect might involve either a difficult topic or a stressful encounter. Additionally, I always try to meet people’s needs when it comes to sensitive topics and content. I use a Google form before the campaign starts to help inform my do’s and don’ts on top of players being open to let me know of any needs they have during session zero. I leave the door open for people to update, change, or add to their needs at any time. Also, I leave space after sessions to talk about how things went, where people are at, and generally discuss things if desired.
