About the adventure

Over the past 30 years, Death has been reaping souls of the departed far sooner than before. No one has known what caused this shift, but many have prayed to Death to stop the early taking of lives. Death however, has been silent to their followers. In addition to Death's zealotry, the Weave has begun to grow unstable. Wild Magic Zones, fantastical magic items, and uniquely powerful spells now litter the continent. Gnomish tinkerers and researchers have begun to take notice and attempt to find the root cause of such a disturbance. Your characters will be assisting in this mission. The Gnomes will be travelling to various countries and locations to find the source of this Weave disturbance. They've hired you to guard them from any sort of misfortune. Hopefully you're all up for the task!

About me

Lo, and Ahoy! I'm Boomer, I've been playing TTRPGs for just under 10 years and happy to run games for you all! I've been playing 5th Edition DnD for almost my entire TTRPG tenure, a few short campaigns in other systems here or there. One of my favorite things about TTRPGs is the fact that you can have a few amount of people with such a moving and fulfilling story that an outside observer knows nothing about. The insulation of those emotional beats and truly moving stories are amazing to me. The tears shed, the feelings shared, and the words said keep me coming back week in and week out to play more! If I can share the wonderful stories and tales with more people I will!

Character creation

Creating your character

I plan on us doing a session zero, so you are welcome to come with characters in mind but it is not necessary! We're going to start with 5e 2024, but please bring up any wanted homebrew with you and we can go over it together!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I'll make a discord server, and we'll go from there! If you want to bring a character already made, we can adjust the backstory a little bit to fit in to the world, and I'll be excited to see what you made!

What Boomer brings to the table

I will do my best for voices to be consistent and for lore to be coherent. If it sounds sick as hell, we'll make sure that we can get some sort of skill or ability check to make it work in the rules. We'll have some music playing through discord to help set the vibe and facilitate the ambiance.

Homebrew rules

Easy stuff out of the way: Potions are bonus action to roll or full action for full hp Crits are max die then roll die, (Greatsword would be 12 dmg plus another 2d6 plus your STR mod, Halberd would be 10 plus 1d10 plus STR mod) Bear with me on this one: The Death Saves will be 3 successes and 2 failures. Death has been eager to take souls before many would consider it their time. I just need you to trust me on this one

Safety

How Boomer creates a safe table

We'll have a Lines and Veils sheet for the session 0 to fill out, I plan on having a cooldown after each session for us to decompress and update any Lines and Veils and talk about what went well and what went poorly.
