About the adventure
In Rime of the Frostmaiden (RotF) you will face threat from greedy goblin and starving gnolls running in the wild, paranoid inhabitans of Ten-towns and mysterious creatures that may be friend or foe. You will have to investigate the cause of this endless winter and find a solution at any cost. Otherwise, Ten-town might not survive for long. As for my DM style, I like combat as much as roleplay and try to balance them so that all characters can shine in their moment. I try to reward creativity as much as possible (as long as it dosent break the game) and the cleverest solution (or the weirdest) is often time the one that ends up creating fun memories.

Hi, I am a dungeon master from Montreal, Canada and I am fluent in both English and French. I haved played D&D for 10 years, 8 of those I DMed at least one weekly campain with my friends. I played one adventure (RotF) and others centered around greek and/or norse mythology (my own settings). Bienvenu, je suis un dungeon master à Montréal, Canada et je parle autant français qu'anglais. Creating your character
The characters will be created during the session 0 (wich is free). You can still think about what type of character you want to play beforehand and even come with a full sheet ready, but you must follow these instructions: - You can use standard array, Point buy or 4d6 drop the lowest. If you decide to roll, it must be done in the session 0 (so everyone know that no ones try some sneaky moves) - Every character starts at level 1 and dont worry, this adventures handle pretty well level 1 to 3. It is one one the best part of this book (in my oipinion). - You can use any versions of a class/species/background/etc published in any official D&D book. - You can use 3er party content such as spell/classes or others in my game! Just as long as the others players are ok with it and I can look it over to make sure there's nothing broken.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
I use Roll20 to play the game (I have maps, monster and NPC token, etc.) so you must have an account. If you dont already have one and dont know how, we can take a moment during the session 0 to make one. Even if I love Roll20, I find that using discord for our voice is way better. There will be a dedicated discord server for our communication. I will have my webcam, but I dont require everyone to have it. If we do see you cool! I willl most likely look at you while anwsering a question you asked an NPC, otherwise, dont worry, I will stare at your profile icon, it dosent bother me.
What Vincent brings to the table
I try to mix combat and roleplay at equal parts and creative thinking is rewarded! I try to stay by the rules, but let the rule of cool take over by moment in intense situation so that rules dont impeach play but enchance it.
Homebrew rules
There will be some minor homebrew rules: - You can drink a potion with a bonus action. - Character's death save are hided for other PC's. - You can see if other characters are more or less injured. I will tell you if they are at full health, above 50%, above 25% or under 25%.

How Vincent creates a safe table
In session 0, all will fill a sheet containing a lot of topics that you can mark as line or veil. They will be anonymous and I will adapt my GMing to your answers. At any time, you can message me anytime using the X, N & O's system to show that you are uncomfortable with content diplayed, even if you marked it as ok beforehand.
