About the adventure
In these one shot adventures, you will discover the horrors of White Wolf's classic World of Darkness. Whether Vampire, Werewolf, Mage, Changeling, or Wraith, these stand alone stories set in the city of New Orleans will immerse you in the themes of each game. Each Friday night brings a sampling of a different World of Darkness game. In Vampire: the Masquerade "Fat Tuesday," you and your coterie will face the consequences of a mistake. The Prince of the City has a reputation to uphold. One of you has accidentally challenged him. For Werewolf: the Apocalypse "Bayou Blues," your pack must brave the cobbled streets of the French Quarter. A spirit messenger brings glad news: a new werewolf is about to go through its First Change. But the city is packed for Mardi Gras, and the only thing worse than human victims are witnesses. Mage: the Ascension "Magnolia Blossoms" presents a cabal of awakened mages a special challenge. A new mage has recently awakened. Your job is to recruit her to your Tradition. But you have to keep her alive. The forces of the Technocracy are on her trail. Changeling: the Dreaming "Freehold's Last Gleaming" presents a motley of the fae with a desperate challenge. The building that houses the oldest freehold in Louisiana has been purchased by new owners. The old owner was one of you, but they have fallen to the coming Winter. Now you have to save the freehold by any means necessary, before this powerful connection to the Dreaming is cut off forever. Wraith: the Oblivion "Shadows of What We Were" explores the unyielding darkness of the afterlife. The restless dead of Necropolis New Orleans are besieged. Surrounded by a growing Tempest, you must find a way to protect yourselves. The pull of Oblivion drags at you. The claws of specters scratch at the windows. And the streets of New Orleans aren't safe for your loved ones who still live. How do you protect the ones you care about, and yourself? Finally, in Hunter: the Reckoning "Dawn's Early Light," you and a few strangers have received The Word. Monsters prey on humanity. It is up to you who have seen the truth to do something about it. But what can you do? Do you stand and fight? Do you offer mercy? Or do you simply seek to understand, and show others what you've learned? Whether through Zeal, Mercy, or Vision, the Messengers have placed their trust in you. Mythic nightmares lurk in the darkness. It's time to take back the night.

Meet the Game Master
About me
I'm JD. I've been an avid player of TTRPGs since 1990, and have been running them since way back when. I have been using Roll20 since 2019, and have been a professional DM since 2022. I am a husband and father, with a background in live theater. I have taught literally hundreds of people to play a variety of games, and am looking forward to doing the same for you. In addition to Dungeons & Dragons 5e, I also run the 20th Anniversary Edition of White Wolf Game Studio's classic World of Darkness games, Scion 1st edition, Exalted 2nd edition, and several others available on request. Some of my games focus on mature themes. Some are more light-hearted, and are kid friendly (PUGMIRE is a great game for kids 10 and up!). Session 0 is always free, and is where a group will discuss the expectations of the group, and establish the tone of our games.

Creating your character
Due to the nature of this game, players will have their choice of a number of pregenerated characters. Your character sheet will include a simple breakdown of the rule system, the lore, a brief backstory for your character, and will include an explanation of your character's special abilities and supernatural powers.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
These games will be run using Discord for voice and Roll20 for VTT service.
What JDtheST brings to the table
I am a 34 year veteran storyteller for the World of Darkness games. I have taught hundreds of people to play, running everything from one-on-one chronicles to 250 player LARP weekends. I have everything you'll need to play this game, and will be providing the complete mechanics for each pregenerated character. My games are tense, atmospheric, and dark. Combat is swift and lethal. Your choices have consequences. Just because you are a monster doesn't mean you have nothing to fear. Remember, there is always a bigger fish.
Homebrew rules
There are two key mechanics that those familiar with the game system may have questions about. First, soak is applied, not rolled. Anything that grants automatic successes on damage rolls is reduced first. Second, the rule of one at my table comes from later versions of the Storyteller system. Ones do not cancel successes on a roll. A botch occurs when the dice show ones, but no successes.

How JDtheST creates a safe table
World of Darkness games are centered on dark, violent, and triggering themes. When you sign up for this one-shot, I will send you a Lines & Veils questionnaire. Please complete it and return it to me ASAP. Taboo subjects will be avoided as much as possible. Where not possible, Fade to Black will be the order of the day.
