About the adventure

Ever wanted to try Dungeons & Dragons, but didn’t know where to start? Lost Mine of Phandelver is the perfect first step into fantasy roleplaying. This beginner-friendly campaign takes characters from Level 1 to 5 and introduces everything that makes D&D magical: heroic combat, mysterious ruins, shady villains, and the freedom to play any kind of hero you can imagine. No experience required, just a curiosity and a desire to adventure. This game is designed to teach as we play. You’ll learn how to create a character, how dice and combat work, and how roleplaying feels in a relaxed, welcoming environment. The story balances action, intrigue, and mystery without overwhelming new players, giving you space to learn, ask questions, and grow confident in the game. Whether you’re young, old, brand new, or returning after years away, this table is for you. This campaign is run as a Play-by-Post, asynchronous game, meaning we don’t meet at a set time each week. Instead, the story continues throughout the day whenever players are available, post when you wake up, on your lunch break, or late at night. The weekly payment simply holds your seat at the table while the adventure unfolds at a steady, low-pressure pace. It’s D&D on your schedule, always there when you want to play. What makes me different? I'm here to make you feel comfortable and excited to learn. I'm a passionate writer, roleplayer and GM who loves to share the art of roleplaying with other players. If you join this table, you'll have a great time, and make friends doing so.

About me

Hello everyone! My name is Star Guardian, and I'm here to make some incredible stories with some incredible people! I've been playing TTRPG's for about 10 years, starting from Dungeons and Dragons, and moving onto other games! It's become my passion and I want nothing more than to share it with everyone else! I'm available every single day and love helping people with problems, coming up with amazing stories to share with other people. If you have a dream, I want to make it a reality!

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will happen before the adventure begins, during a relaxed Session 0. This gives everyone a chance to meet, talk about ideas, and see what kinds of characters the party is shaping up to be. If this is your first-ever D&D game or you’re unsure what you want to play, don’t worry! I’ll walk you through every step and help you find a character that fits your style. Characters will start at Level 1, and we’ll roll ability scores together using the classic 4d6 (drop the lowest) method, then assign them however you like. I’ll be present the whole time to explain what each stat does, answer questions, and help translate the rules into plain language so nothing feels overwhelming. All characters will be created using official D&D material, with guidance provided on what options are best for new players. The goal is simple: make a character you’re excited to play, understand how they work, and feel confident stepping into the story when the adventure begins.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Just make sure you have a Discord! As this is PbP, no mic or camera is necessary!

What Star Guardian brings to the table

My goal in every game is to make the world feel alive and immersive, even in a play-by-post format. To help set the tone, I provide a curated ambient playlist players can listen to while reading or writing posts, giving each scene its own mood and emotional weight. Because this adventure uses an official module, I’ll also provide clear maps for exploration and combat, so players always understand where they are and what’s happening. I focus on keeping combat easy to follow and approachable, especially for new players, while still making every encounter feel meaningful. For added immersion, I assist players with Tupper, a discord App that allows players to post as their in-game character, so you can post in-character using your character’s art and name. Whether it’s your first PbP game or your first D&D game ever, I’m here to support you! Answering questions, explaining rulings, and favoring fun!

Safety

How Star Guardian creates a safe table

Player comfort and safety always come first. Before the game begins, I make time for a one-on-one conversation with every new player to talk through boundaries, preferences, and anything you’d like me to be aware of, no pressure, no judgment. This ensures you know exactly what kind of story you’re stepping into and that nothing unwanted finds its way into the game. During Session 0, we’ll also go over tone, themes, and expectations as a group, and I remain open to check-ins at any point during the campaign. If something ever feels uncomfortable, you can message me privately at any time and we’ll course-correct immediately, no explanations required. This is a collaborative, respectful table where everyone is treated like a friend first and a player second. My role as your Dungeon Master is not just to tell a story, but to make sure it’s one you feel safe, heard, and excited to be part of everything.
