About the adventure
You were new members of a mages guild, trying your best to learn all that you could within your independent field of study, and impress your superiors. But your entire world is turned upside down when an archmage appears at the front-door to recruit you for a critical mission. Isilynor is an interplanar garden, once full of wondrous and vibrant alien plant-life. Its magic was a nexus of everything the multiverse had to offer. But now, it is under-siege from a disgusting growth called 'The Scourge' that has infected all of Isilynor's halls. It is up to your party to uproot this corruption and instill a new generation of plants in this bastion of botany. Creating your character
Character creation is explained in detail on our Discord and follows two main steps before your character officially joins the game and appears "on-screen." 1. First, you’ll develop a character concept by choosing the species, class, and other key elements you’d like to play, along with brainstorming a backstory for your character. 2. Next, we’ll have a brief one-on-one Session 0 where we’ll finalize your character's backstory and weave it into the campaign’s setting. We’ll also discuss your hopes and expectations for the campaign. What kind of arc do you envision for your character? Are there figures from their backstory you’d like to see in-game? What role-playing elements do you enjoy most as a player? These details help me, as the Game Master, tailor the campaign to meet the party’s expectations. 3. In Session 0, we will also finalize all of the features, items, and spells for your character to make them ready to play!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should do the following to prepare: 1. Have a working microphone for clear communication. 2. Create a Discord account. 3. Join our Discord server (feel free to PM me for the invite link). 4. Follow the "New Player Checklist" provided in the server. 5. BONUS: Familiarize yourself with the D&D 5e 2024 rules. This is optional, as I’ll teach you the basics if you're new! However, if you have time, watching a few tutorial videos or reading up online can be really helpful before we start. If you need any resources, just ask, and I’ll gladly provide them!
What Nick brings to the table
I will provide a self-hosted FoundryVTT instance, along with all the materials needed to create a D&D 5e 2024 character. You’ll also have access to digital maps, premium Foundry modules for automation, ambient and combat music, and more! Players can expect a campaign that deeply focuses on developing their characters’ narrative arcs through roleplay-heavy sessions. These sessions emphasize meaningful choices, dialogue, and multi-dimensional character development. Combat will be equally engaging, with encounters that allow characters to feel powerful by showcasing their growth through trials and challenges. At the same time, players will face battles against overwhelming odds, making victories feel all the more heroic. This setting and campaign are designed for players who love improv and roleplaying at the heart of their TTRPG experience, supported by tactical combat where characters get to shine with the power they’ve accumulated through spells, magic items, class features, and more!

How Nick creates a safe table
Safety tools are thoroughly addressed in our Discord! Before the game begins, we use a consent survey adapted from Monte Cook Games to assess players' comfort levels with various topics. During gameplay, digital safety cards—commonly known as the X-Card—are available to help monitor and respond to players' comfort with what's happening "on-screen." Additionally, periodic "Temperature Check" surveys will be sent out to gauge how players are enjoying the campaign. With these tools, feedback is regularly encouraged and integrated to ensure a safe and welcoming space for everyone.
