About the adventure

The year is 948 using the calendar of Haphanes. Welcome to the world of Karse, one filled of fantastical beasts, floating islands, empires plotting, and wondrous feats of the arcane. Where the gods walk the earth, their children creating old empires that have fallen, and new ones that have come from the ashes. Our story begins on the Continent of Gideon's Veil, commonly referred to as the Veil. You are a villager of Red Cloud, the bustling of the port bazaar, the smoke of the smiths, and the din of shipyard of this village is all you have known. Envoys from the Ikklessian Empire(to whom the your ruling Malorian Kingdom has a tenous peace with), are rumored to be visiting the village soon. Your village headman has been doing everything to prepare for their arrival, and prevent an incident. This game can be great for either brand new players looking to learn or for veterans.

About me

My name is Isaiah Huey and I have been playing dungeons and dragons for 20+ years. I started with AD&D and I have never looked back. In those years I have spent the vast majority as a GM, running games for new friends who I was trying to indoctrinate into the light of adventure with friends. I have DM'd for groups as large as 10 and as small as one other person, so I am flexible in how I can operate as GM.

Character creation

Creating your character

You will be a level one, you can create your character before the first session. Any books are allowed, I'm most used to running 2014 rules, but I have no problem if you want to make a character running the 2024 rules. There are no racial, or class restrictions everything is allowed. Stats: Roll four and keep the highest three and assign at your leisure, I allow one reroll during character creation(you don't have to take it).

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need both a discord and a roll20 account for the game to be run effectively. I plan to use a discord to stream the roll20 game so you won't need to have more than one screen.

What Isaiah Huey brings to the table

I like to use character voices and ambient mood music to set the tone in games. I also try will incorporate songs that connect to your characters, so if you make a playlist of music that you feel relates to yours I will add those to the playlist. So feel free to make a playlist and share it with me. I tend to mostly do instrumental tracks ( but some with lyrics do slip in). I like to use the rule of cool, with regard to the rules.

Homebrew rules

Potions as a bonus action, as well as administering one to an ally or NPC. Modified Crits: Roll as normal then add one die of maximum damage and your modifiers.

Safety

How Isaiah Huey creates a safe table

I believe that roleplaying games are a chance to escape from the real world. I want players to feel safe, and comfortable to explore. Everyone deserves a chance to have fun with their imaginations in a safe space. If there are things you don't want in the game please let me know. I have X,N,O cards already on the Roll20.
