About the adventure
"Myth You Already" is a West Marches-styled Theros campaign for players new and old. Your heroes (or villains!) will venture from the safety of their towns into the open world of Theros and beyond, revealing the story with every adventure. PLAYING A WEST MARCHES GAME Unlike a more traditional TTRPG campaign, which can rely upon an overarching plot from the very beginning, a West Marches campaign is primarily episodic and exploration oriented. It is determined by your choices, and it is also imbalanced in its difficulty. Your characters strike out from the safety of a base or headquarters and explore the world around you. The further you get from safety, the more dangerous the world becomes. "DO I NEED TO KNOW THE LORE?" Not at all! Everything you need to know will be provided to you as we develop your character, and after that, as it arises in-game. If that sounds good to you, come play with me! Creating your character
Players are requested to create a Level 3 character in D&D Beyond, rolling manually for stats, using the Dungeons & Dragons "Players Handbook" (2014 or 2024) and "Mythic Odysseys of Theros" campaign setting guidebook. If a player is unfamiliar with the campaign setting and would like help doing so, I'm happy to walk them through it.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should have accounts on Discord, since that is where we will organize our sessions and information, and on D&D Beyond, where they will be making and managing their character sheets.
What Sawyer brings to the table
For my asking price, I will provide Mythic Odysseys of Theros content in a shared campaign for character creation and organization, as well as a dedicated Discord server for gameplay. I am a Rule of Cool DM who would rather the game be narratively interesting than mechanically perfect. Players may also expect ambient soundtrack and session recordings for their reference.
Homebrew rules
A cantrip and a spell may be cast in the same turn if the spell's casting time is a bonus action. Drinking a potion is a bonus action. I don't stress about encumbrance, but I do differentiate between your backpack and your trunk.
