About me

Hi there! I’m Jim and I’m the one in my photo that isn’t a Wookie! Several years ago, I picked up a D&D Starter Set, ran it as a duet for my partner, and fell in love with this incredible hobby! Since then, it has slowly consumed my life: I started GMing at my local game shop, ran a pile of one shots, and now I'm several campaigns deep! I own more PDFs than I could ever get through in a human lifetime and I'm still buying new ones whenever I see something cool. 😅 I’ve also written and run several custom adventures, including a multi-table Epic, and I’m the lead editor and rules contributor for "Echoes of the Veil", a weird-cyberpunk FitD system, which had a successful Kickstarter earlier this year! My current preferred system is Daggerheart, and I’m also still very comfortable running D&D 5e and Pathfinder 2e. I’m really excited by Draw Steel and Fabula Ultima, but I haven't gotten a chance to play them yet (if you want to give them a go, hit me up 😉). I do not use AI-generated content(ChatGPT, Midjourney, etc.) in my games!

Character creation

Creating your character

Pre-generated characters will be available, but feel free to bring your own ideas too! Characters will should be level 1 and created using Daggerheart Nexus, which I’ll provide access to. You can use all currently available options from the core game. Playtest content from the Void may also available on a case-by-case basis. Just ask and we can discuss your idea! We’ll finalize characters before play begins and make sure everyone’s ready to save Christmas! Feel free to reach out via StartPlaying or Discord ahead of time to brainstorm character ideas or ask questions.

Safety

How Jim creates a safe table

My table is always a safe space for femme, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and neurodivergent players. My goal is to create a welcoming, collaborative space where you feel safe, supported, and free to fully enjoy the story. Before play begins, we’ll discuss play styles, group goals, and the tone of the adventure. We’ll also set clear boundaries using Lines and Veils and go over the use X, N, and O cards so everyone can signal comfort levels during play.
