About the adventure
The evening is cold and wet, the rain outside is so intense that even inside the normally cozy inn there's a chill pallor in the faces of the patrons. The normally lively hustle and bustle, the roaring laughter and riotous drinking has burned out, like the coals of still warm embers. There is still life in the end, like those embers, but it is a diminutive thing, characterized by mysterious cloaked figures and a variety of adventurers and wanderers taking refuge from the thick cascade of rain outside. You awake in your bed to the sound of the roaring rain and thunder. It's as intense as it was last night, when you took refuge from the heart of a storm. It's still going, and seems to shift slightly as you move, as if you've personally incited the ire of a god. You get up and walk over to the wash basin with a mirror affixed on top of it. You carefully wipe away the condensation with your hand, to reveal the reflection of who and what you are. About me
Greetings! I'm Caramon, (yes, named after Caramon from Dragonlance) and I have been a DM for several years, and I've pretty much always DMed instead of being a player! I really enjoy creating a world and having my players explore it. I go the extra mile, providing ambience for adventures, including narrations and sound effects for short stories specifically written for my games and their characters. My games are always about creating a shared story and unraveling a united mystery in a world where your decisions matter and actions have consequences. In some games, you may feel that what you do does little to change the overall outcome. With my games, that is not true. Your decisions have weight, both for good and for ill. I often provide text rp as an additional option free of charge, provided I am available during that time. My games always have a very strong lore aspect. If you really enjoy diving deep into the world, dissecting prophecies, lore drops, riddles, and mysteries while you try as hard as you might to save a doomed world, then I am the DM for you! Creating your character
I have several character creation options. I will provide all the resources you might need on D&D Beyond for your character sheet, but it doesn't have to be hosted there. Stats are either rolled, point buy, or standard array. I also have the option for a unique rolling method to help you determine what you want to play if you are unsure.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Be available to respond to text RP throughout the week to get your best value. I am available throughout the week at various different times. If you have very limited availability to reply in text rp, you may wish to avoid this game. Responses do not have to be immersive on your part, you can instead briefly describe what you want to do and I will describe your reaction for you immersively if you so desire.
What Caramon brings to the table
I will bring over 20 years of fantasy writing experience to bear to bring your character and the world to life around you. I also have many years of experience running 5e and playing by post as well. With cooperative collaboration, your character and the world it finds itself in will be highly immersive.
