About the adventure

The holy city of Elturel has disappeared from the Forgotten Realms and descended into Avernus, the first layer of the Nine Hells. This event came about as the result of an infernal bargain between the archdevil Zariel, who rules Avernus, and the treacherous High Overseer of Elturel, Thavius Kreeg. Zariel is capturing cities and using their citizens as fodder in the ongoing conflict between demons and devils known as the Blood War. Next on Zariel’s list of cities is Elturel’s neighbor, Baldur’s Gate. The characters can be the heroes who descend into Avernus, save Elturel from certain destruction, and prevent a similar fate from befalling Baldur’s Gate.

Character creation

Creating your character

You can create your own adventurers, or DM will offer pre-generated characters that fit with the story. If this is not to your liking then please have a character for creation in mind before session 0. We will discuss origin, backstories, and lore at this time. Those joining later can message with the DM on how to adapt their character to the current party. Stats are rolled with a generator on Discord. HP can be done with averages or rolled with DM.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

-Download Discord for voice and text channels. -DND Beyond will be used to track characters in the campaign -Roll20 will be used as the VTT. DM is currently adding custom content (more modules, DLC's, homebrew, etc...) as such link to tabletop will change.

What Angstrom brings to the table

I grew up with a love for fantasy writing which now I get to incorporate into worldbuilding and cooperative storytelling. I enjoy roleplay and character voices and use ambient soundtracks to set the moods. I am bringing hundreds of hours of play as both DM and player in D&D as well as I am currently expanding and collecting more resources. I am actively buying new books and resources to share with my tables, shared through campaigns with all players to reduce barriers to entry. Any active published books are available for all players in my groups with many more to come! If I do not own it and you wish to use content from a specific book, run it by DM during session 0 character creation. Some third party books are available for more immersive systems like weapon crafting for immersive roleplay experiences. We will be using Roll20 Pro and D&D beyond character sheets.

How Angstrom creates a safe table

My gamers follow the modules with concern taken for players. Session 0 will discuss tabletop rules as well as expectations. Lines and veils will be posts on the tabletop. Feel free to share any concerns you have with the DM before, during, or after play in an appropriate manner.
