About the adventure
This is a tightly focused horror mystery perfect for both new and veteran players. Set in 1929 New York, you’re asked to investigate the strange disappearance of Rose Blackwood and clear her husband’s name - if he's innocent at all. The peaceful rural cabin hides a growing dread, and the Blackwood family’s past may be far more than just tragic. Expect psychological horror, a contained timeline, and classic Mythos suspense, all wrapped up in a chilling evening’s session. Pregens provided. No experience necessary.

About me
My job as a web developer taught me technology should never get in the way, I am constantly improving my virtual tabletop. The same goes for rules. I'm obsessed with making sure you know enough rules and in-game-lore to feel informed and empowered. I was trained how to teach a game to new players, and ensure they're having fun the whole time, when starting a university board game club. It's hard for everyone to make time for games. I do my best to run a scheduled game 'no matter what.' You may be surprised at what I “let you get away with” – but that's the point of a roleplaying game! The whole reason I’m here is to allow you greater freedom than any computer or boardgame could ever allow. My role is to invent reactions and consequenses. I have diagnosed and medicated ADHD, one of the ways it can show up is a deep craving for emotional intensity. My toxic trait is seeking strong reactions. Years of unconscious practice mean I have developed a knack for pressing buttons, stirring up conflict, and chasing those moments that make people around me feel. That used to get me into trouble. But as a GM? It’s my greatest strength. I channel that energy into crafting unforgettable story beats and emotionally charged choices. When you disappoint a friendly “Non-Player Character”, I’ll make it hurt. When a villain taunts you, you will burn to take them down. I use every narrative trick in the book to draw you deeper into your character’s journey, until you feel it in your gut. Join me in crafting adventures where your characters live, breathe, and grow! (possibly into horrible flesh monsters, to be determined)

Creating your character
I have pre-generated characters, balanced by the designer of the game: The Author, age 33, relative of Arthur Blackwood As a family member, the Author (who specializes in books on the occult and unexplained mysteries) has been summoned by their frantic cousin-several-times-removed to help clear his name. The Private Detective, age 41 Hired by Joseph Klein, Arthur Blackwood’s business partner as well as his defense attorney, the Private Detective has the authority of the court to collect evidence for the defense team. The Psychologist, age 55 Like the Private Detective, the Psychologist has been hired by Arthur Blackwood’s law partner and defense attorney, Joseph Klein, to help build his case by determining Arthur’s mental state at the time he allegedly murdered his wife. The Architect, age 34, friend of the Blackwood family A close friend of the Blackwoods, the Architect is happy to offer their services to Arthur and his legal team in an attempt to help prove his innocence.
