About the adventure

👾Sci-Fi Survival horror. 👾Xenomorphs 👾An overrun colony with only one means of escape. Three days ago, Miranda Reynolds, a corpo, arrived with her team. Then a snake-like monster burst out of Russ's chest, and you were happy enough to leave for a maintenance run. Let someone else handle it. They didn't. Now, xenomorphs overrun Hadley's Hope, and the only way off the colony is Miranda's private shuttle. Here's the rub: The car keys are still around Miranda's neck, inside the colony. Good luck. --- Module Details --- Hope's Last Day is an introductory dungeon crawl emphasizing Alien's survival horror roots. (Yes, Xenomorphs can kill you with a single hit.) --- GM's Note --- The 2e character sheet for Roll20 hasn't released yet. When it is, I'll update the Roll20 link and notify those who've already joined. Until then, you'll be able to view the pre-made characters with the current Roll20 link.

About me

Hi👋, I'm Franc, better known as Golvin. I'd like to be your GM. While I mainly run D&D, Call of Cthulhu, and Alien RPG, my real pleasure is trying new modules and systems. (Cowboy Bebop RPG anyone?) Which has led me to a specialization in running one-shots, often including highly detailed handouts, pre-made characters, and other player aids. I also write the Reviews from the Far Reams Substack newsletter, currently focused on helping others get the most out of Call of Cthulhu 7e modules.

Character creation

Creating your character

Players are highly encouraged to choose a pregen, as they hook into each other and the scenario. Their secret agendas create an amazing roleplay experience. However, players may make their own character using the Core Rulebook. They cannot takes weapons larger than a pistol.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

The campaign will be run on Roll20 with Discord for notes and messages. As such, players are expected to have: - a Roll20 account, - a Discord account, - a good internet connection, - and a microphone.

What Golvin - One-Shot GM brings to the table

Tangibly, I bring a fully realized Roll20 game (macros, pre-made characters, maps, handouts, etc.) To help make Alien easier to learn this also includes a rules cheatsheet plus a Roll20 guide in the Discord. (None of which you need to read.) Intangibly, I've run and taught TTRPGs for a decade. This includes multiple Alien RPG campaigns and over a dozen runs of Hope's Last Day.

Safety

How Golvin - One-Shot GM creates a safe table

When joining this campaign, I will send you my Lines & Veils (content boundaries) along with any relevant links. ("Prep Material.") I encourage you to add your own, either before or during session 0. If you become uncomfortable during play, please notify me. You can do so verbally or messaging me an "X" (stop) or "N" (getting uncomfortable). At which, I'll remove the offending content or fast-forward through it. However, depending on how obvious what the offending content is, I may need to ask about it later to update the group's Lines & Veils. You are, of course, free to step away from the game as necessary.
