About the adventure

You've received a mysterious letter summoning you as a long-lost scion of the Betony family, the true heir to a crumbling estate and the quaint town of Stachys. Upon arrival, you find that you're not the only scion: each of your fellow players is also a supposed long-lost heir! The children of your father's colorful youth are now bound together in unexpected ways. In this cozy, player-driven sandbox campaign, you and your newfound kin must navigate the joys and challenges of estate management, local politics, and found family. You'll battle not just monsters, but crumbling walls, feuding nobles, and the drama of everyday life as a new noble. Shape the fate of Stachys and the Betony name; one deed, one friendship, and one festive gathering at a time!

About me

Greetings, fellow adventurers! I’m Gerik, your dedicated Game Master! For years, I’ve been immersed in the world of tabletop RPGs, guiding brave heroes through fantastical worlds. I bring a blend of creativity, humor, and immersive storytelling to every session. I take heavy inspiration from shows like Narrative Declaration/Glass Cannon Podcast, and look to foster a table community where everyone can laugh together and feel welcome. I have been described as theatrical, high-energy, and a bit of a madman when playing a nefarious villain. But above all, I am a GM who wants you to have a good time, and I'll do my best to make that happen! But don't just take my word for it, check out my reviews to see what others have to say!

Character creation

Creating your character

Daggerheart emphasizes character creation as a collaborative process; therefore, Session 0 will be dedicated to fleshing out our characters, both narratively and mechanically, as a group.

The current party

This adventure is scheduled to start after the winter holidays on January 6th, 2026.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players should expect the following gameplay themes in this adventure: Rebuilding: Renovate your inherited estate, uncover strange happenings in the county, and breathe new life into the decaying town of Stachys. Navigate Noble Intrigue: Forge, fracture, or finesse alliances with neighboring nobles. Attend feasts, outmaneuver rivals, and mediate the ever-rolling drama of the nobility. Champion the Community: Become heroes not only for fighting monsters but by solving the real troubles of the people. Engineering festivals, defending citizens from bandits and monsters, or simply delivering a bumper harvest. Forge Family Ties: Experience Daggerheart’s collaborative storytelling and emotional depth. Grow from awkward siblings into a found family! Meet Unforgettable NPCs: Build lasting relationships with quirky townsfolk, proud peasants, and ambitious nobles. Allies (and rivals!) remember your deeds. Every friendship or feud can unlock new stories or spark new troubles. Flexible, Player-Driven Storytelling: Daggerheart encourages improvisation. Your choices, plans, and roleplay drive the plot. Want to host a masked ball, found a town guard, or dig up a dynasty’s darkest secret? The sandbox is yours to shape!

What Gerik brings to the table

A GM style that focuses on narrative, invites players to embody their characters, and encourages non-combat solutions to problems when possible! An emphasis on the theatrical! Players will experience a GM style that involves voices, music, and sound effects.

How Gerik creates a safe table

Each player who joins my server is required to sign my onboarding document, where I outline all my table/community rules. These cover topics such as behaviors that will not be tolerated as well as other housekeeping topics. Refusal to sign this document disqualifies players from playing at the table to ensure the safety of all members who do.
