About the adventure

Eprieta is a city of power, secrets, and carefully maintained lies. As council members serving beneath the Crown, the Five Great Houses, and the watchful eyes of the populace, you navigate a world where every alliance is transactional and every smile hides an agenda. When a trusted colleague dies under mysterious circumstances and leaves behind warnings of something ancient stirring beneath the city, you’re drawn into an investigation that will take you from glittering noble ballrooms to smuggler’s warehouses, from forgotten vaults filled with dangerous relics to the quiet horror of realizing that the people you trusted have been lying for generations. This is a political intrigue campaign with supernatural horror lurking at its edges. Early sessions focus on investigation, faction politics, and building relationships with NPCs who have their own agendas—some of whom will become trusted allies, others bitter enemies. As the campaign progresses, the supernatural elements grow more prominent, and the true scope of what’s been hidden becomes terrifyingly clear. Expect mysteries to unravel, moral dilemmas without clean answers, and moments where the choices you make define who your character truly is. The tone is tragic heroism. This is not a story where you save the world through clever tactics and a well-timed critical hit. The Fall of Eprieta is about what you choose to protect when you can’t protect everything, what truths you pursue when ignorance would be easier, and what kind of person you become when everything you believed in crumbles around you. Your characters will matter—not because they prevent the catastrophe, but because of how they face it. I’m looking for players who enjoy collaborative storytelling, character-driven drama, and aren’t afraid of a campaign that embraces difficult emotions alongside moments of levity and genuine connection. If you want to play heroes who are defined by their choices rather than their victories, who form bonds with NPCs worth fighting for, and who face the end of an era with courage even when hope runs thin—welcome to Eprieta.

About me

My name is Mike, I've been playing and hosting D&d sessions for over 8 years both in person and online. Critical role is what pulled me into this wonderful chaos and I've watched every single episode they've ever released for all three campaigns. I started with books like Phandelver and Descent into Avernus before eventually moving on to my own homebrew content. I've been creating the world of Remilia for over 4 years now and while I have a lot fleshed out there is still SO much more that can and will be done. I love hosting games for a lot of reasons, but one of the major ones is this; Every time I bring a new player into my world, they leave a mark on it. Whether it's a small little fishing village off the coast, or a network of thieves beneath one of the largest cities on the continent, new players are a direct source of amazing ideas and world expansion and I cherish them.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation happens during Session 0 which is free, where we’ll build characters together as a group. I find that creating characters collaboratively leads to better party dynamics—you’ll be able to establish connections between characters, ensure your roles complement each other, and ask questions about the setting in real time. We’ll discuss backstories, motivations, and how your character fits into Eprieta’s political landscape. By the end of Session 0, you should have a complete character ready to play. Immediately following Session 0, we’ll run a brief Session 0.5, also free of charge, where you get to step into your character’s shoes for the first time. This is a low-stakes introduction—a chance to find your character’s voice, establish some initial relationships, and experience the city before the main plot kicks into gear. Think of it as a prologue: your first taste of Eprieta before everything starts unraveling. We’re using the Daggerheart system. Characters will start at Level 3, and stats will be determined using the standard Daggerheart character creation rules. You’ll choose your Heritage, Community, Class, and Subclass from the core rulebook. If you want to use homebrew content or options from supplemental materials, just run it by me first—I’m generally open to it if it fits the tone of the campaign. Since you’ll be playing council members with political authority, we’ll also work together during Session 0 to determine your specific council role and which Great House your position naturally aligns with. Come to Session 0 with a character concept in mind, but hold your specific mechanical choices loosely—the collaborative process often sparks better ideas than what we arrive with.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

How to Prepare 1. Join the Discord server — I’ll send you an invite link after you sign up. This is where we’ll handle scheduling, campaign discussion, and out-of-session questions. Make sure your notifications are set up so you don’t miss announcements. 2. Create a Demiplane account — We’ll be using Demiplane for character sheets. Head to demiplane.com, create an account, and familiarize yourself with the Daggerheart character builder. Feel free to create a character ahead of Session 0 if inspiration strikes, but come ready to make adjustments based on our collaborative discussion. 3. Send me your Demiplane character sheet link — Once you’ve created your character (or even a draft), share the link with me so I can review it and make sure everything fits the campaign. 4. Access Foundry VTT — We’ll be playing on Foundry VTT. I’ll provide the server link and any necessary login credentials through Discord before our first session. Foundry runs in your web browser, so there’s no software to download—just make sure you’re using an updated version of Chrome or Firefox for the best experience. 5. Read the player primer — I’ll share a short document covering the basics of Eprieta, the political structure, and the campaign premise. You don’t need to memorize it, but a quick read will help you hit the ground running. 6. Come with a character concept — You don’t need a finished character, but arrive at Session 0 with a rough idea of who you want to play. Think about what kind of council role interests you and what brings your character into Eprieta’s political world.

What TheMurr brings to the table

What I Provide I’m not a professional voice actor, but I bring NPCs to life through distinct mannerisms, speech patterns, and the occasional accent when I can manage it. Expect monster growls, environmental sounds, and the kind of vocal performance that keeps you immersed without veering into one-man-show territory. What I lack in range I make up for in commitment. Where I really shine is atmosphere. I’m deeply invested in ambient music and sound effects—expect curated soundscapes for every major location, tension-building tracks during investigations, and audio cues that shift as situations escalate. When you enter a noble ballroom, you’ll hear the murmur of conversation and clinking glasses. When something crawls out of the Merrow River, you’ll hear it coming. Sound design is a big part of how I build immersion, and I put real effort into making Eprieta feel alive. Combat in this campaign is intense and tactical. Daggerheart’s fear and hope system creates natural tension, and I lean into that. Enemies will use the environment, target vulnerabilities, and fight intelligently. Character death is absolutely possible if you make reckless decisions or push your luck too far—this is a campaign about consequences, and that extends to the battlefield. That said, I’m not trying to kill you; I’m trying to challenge you. Come prepared, think tactically, and you’ll be fine. I embrace the Rule of Cool wholeheartedly—Daggerheart is built for cinematic moments, and I want you to attempt wild, creative actions. If your idea is dramatic and makes narrative sense, we’ll find a way to make it work mechanically. The dice will have their say, but I’ll never shut down a cool idea just because it’s not explicitly covered in the rules. Take risks. Surprise me. The best moments in this campaign will come from choices none of us saw coming.

Homebrew rules

I don’t have any specific homebrew rules to explain however homebrew is very possible if we come up with ideas that make sense.

Safety

How TheMurr creates a safe table

Safety at the Table Before Session 0, I’ll send out a Lines and Veils document for everyone to fill out privately. Lines are hard limits—content that will never appear in the game, no questions asked. Veils are topics we can reference but will handle off-screen or with minimal detail. Your responses stay between you and me; I compile them into a master list without attribution so everyone’s boundaries are respected without anyone having to explain themselves. During Session 0, we’ll discuss the campaign’s tone and themes openly. The Fall of Eprieta deals with political corruption, loss, difficult moral choices, and the horror of inevitability. There will be moments of genuine tragedy. I want everyone to understand what they’re signing up for while also knowing they have tools to pump the brakes if something hits wrong. We use the X-Card and N-Card system during play. If something comes up that crosses a line or makes you uncomfortable, you can type “X” in chat or say it out loud—no explanation needed, and we move on immediately. The N-Card lets you tap the brakes: “I’m okay, but let’s not go further with this.” Both are available digitally through Foundry and verbally on call. I take these seriously, and I expect the table to as well. Using a safety tool is never a disruption; it’s good communication. After intense sessions—especially ones involving character death, major revelations, or emotionally heavy scenes—we’ll take a few minutes for decompression. This might mean chatting out of character about what happened, checking in on how everyone’s feeling, or just acknowledging that things got real. This campaign will have moments that hit hard, and I want to make sure everyone leaves the table okay. My door is always open between sessions if you need to talk through something privately.
