About the adventure

A murder. A delicate balance of politics. A conspiracy. A haunted house. And you're called upon to unravel it all. Two kingdoms are on the brink of war, and something even worse may lie beneath the city. This roleplay-heavy adventure will be an excellent introduction to D&D for new players while holding the interest of veterans as well. Beginner friendly, it will have plenty of action and combat, but also lots of intrigue and puzzles that will require use of skills, utility spells, and imagination.

About me

I've been a Dungeon Master for almost 50 years, starting with the boxed set when I was ten. I've played and/or run a large number of systems, from the well-known to the obscure, though I keep finding myself back with D&D or Call of Cthulhu. I've DM'd for players of all levels of experience, from none at all to decades. I like a narrative format and being creative in figuring out how to fit what players want within the rules of the game. I've run games on virtual tabletops since before the pandemic. I'm also a published science fiction and fantasy writer, and use that same creativity on the games I run, whether I've written them myself or I'm running a published scenario.

Character creation

Creating your character

There will be a no-cost Session Zero where characters are created. If you wish to get a head start on character creation, I will provide a link to the game in roll20, where I'll create a blank character for you to fill out.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need an account on roll20, where the game will be hosted, and a membership to my Discord server. URLs will be provided for both, and there is no cost for either.

What Pat Luther brings to the table
