About the adventure
This game is meant to be for new and old players alike to learn the systems of The Witcher TTRPG. From session zero, and all the way to the end of this campaign, I will be trying to help players interested in this system to learn the ropes while also having a good time! From character creation to your first adventure, I will help you understand the systems, hardcore as they are compared to many others, while also allowing for some rule of cool alongside them.

About me
Role-playing games, such as Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior, roped me into the world of RPGs at the young age of 5. It only took a few years before I started in the world of TTRPGs. Now in my 30s, I have long enjoyed creating characters, playing in campaigns, and running for a few years as well!

Creating your character
Character creation will take place during the first session, as it is expected that all players will be new/newer to the system. These characters will be level one. We will be rolling for stats (d10, rerolling 1s and 2s), and rolls will be done on Roll20 to confirm validity, which is where we will also fill out character sheets. All books are allowed to be used for character creation.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
There will be a Discord server and a Roll20 game for the players to join. Please have an active account for both of these so that you are able to join the voice call as well as the game itself on Roll20.
What David Carithers brings to the table
My games tend to have spurts of intense, tactical combat mixed in with plenty of chances for players to talk, plan, plot, and otherwise engage with NPCs. There are often puzzles to solve amidst the plots that have to be figured out. While the Rules are expansive and hardcore, there are times when the rule of cool will overrule what is expected to be allowed/not allowed. It all depends on what the players want to do and how the system handles it.
Homebrew rules
No homebrew rules, but we will decide if we wish to use certain optional rules from within the core rulebook before the adventure begins properly, based on the characters created.

Safety
How David Carithers creates a safe table
Session Zero will go over the dos and don'ts that the players and I will have for the campaign. I ask that all players let me know anything that is not allowed, but will also have messaged or voiced X/N/O's, should anything come up that might be problematic once the adventure has started. I will DM everyone after each session to ask how they feel and see what they wish to keep or have be different in future sessions, as well as make sure they are not overwhelmed or feeling pressured negatively in any way.
