Welcome to my profile, bozo. Here, you'll find how my ECCENTRICITY stands as the foundation to my craft. I tried DnD in 2018, and within weeks, became the DM and have been cursed with this power since. My stories focus on the struggles of the character and the emotional turmoil that comes with them. In light we may see a paladin who blooms with righteousness, but in the dark, they are haunted by every soul they've claimed in the name of their God. My studies in psychology only deepens my interest in this kind of approach. Running games isn't just an avenue for me to display my writing; the stories that happen within my games are born from our interactions as fellow players. You are as much a writer as I am in the game. If you're the sort to enjoy seeing the growth of your character as a person, then take a seat. Creating your character
We will meet up together first as a group to talk which classes you each want to explore! Homebrew is very available, however only after checks, of course! We will do point-buy and will start at Level 1! We will use DiceCloud/Avrae for character sheets. There will be adjusted mechanics in regards to effects that produce similar effects to make things fair.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We will primarily use Discord and Owlbear. I will make a dedicated server! However, you may request Roll20 as well if you'd prefer that!
What The Eccentric brings to the table
I heavily rely on voices and ambient music, I need to get into the mood too, after all! Combat will be sprinkled in, with increasing frequency at your request! While we must follow the rules, they shouldn't be a hindrance to the story. Make use of the mechanics to your favor, but we will put the story forward. The game system should be a stage to perform on, not a cage, and cool ad-libs shouldn't be punished!
Homebrew rules
We have a good many to consider, especially since we'll be using homebrew systems. However, I will provide a list of rules I use, and the party can vote on which homebrew rules we'll include into the game when we start making characters!

How The Eccentric creates a safe table
We must be transparent. Issues that arise MUST be discussed, not just left to fester. We're adults here, we'll talk about our problems. Boundaries, disagreements, and expectations must be cleared and resolved. Whether it's through a call or just chatting, let's be civil and cooperative in getting a fun table together. Session 0, we set the boundaries! At the end of each session, we will talk about the events that happened during the game! I want to start this game as friends, and end it as friends! DMing isn't just an outlet for creativity, it's a platform for communication and socializing. Let's go through this together, and let's confront our problems together.
