About the adventure

Campaign Introduction: Five centuries ago, the cataclysm known as the Sundering cleaved the continent of Ambrosia in two. From the darkness and chaos that followed, the Divine Kingdom of Veridia emerged as a beacon of radiance, blessed by Aphos' light, to guide the realm back from the brink of oblivion. In time, Ambrosia's greatest minds came together to found the city of Arcanith; a bastion of enlightenment which welcomed all who wished to uncover the secrets of forgotten magic and sought to understand the ruinous calamity that nearly destroyed the realm. Fearing the revival of practices deemed heretical and believed to have brought on the Sundering as a manifestation of Aphos' wrath, Templars from the Orders of Dusk and Dawn marched on Arcanith, beginning a war that would bathe the fragile realm in blood for decades. After nearly a generation of conflict, both sides weary of the brutality, diplomacy finally prevailed and a peace accord was struck. Arcanith became recognized as a sovereign city-state, independent from the Kingdom of Veridia, under the condition that it appoint a singular advisor to its governing council; an ambassador from the Kingdom to be kept apprised of significant magical discoveries made by Arcanith's institutions. Meanwhile, in Veridia, years of war had eroded confidence in the Orders' divine mission, leaving the Paragons of Dusk and Dawn struggling to maintain control over their divided ranks. In order to preserve Aphos' original decree, the two denominations joined their separate tenets into a single unifying doctrine and re-formed under the name of the Twilight Order. Three hundred years of relative peace have since passed. In the present day, Arcanith's borders have expanded to encompass much of the eastern half of Ambrosia, while Veridia continued to flourish on the western side of the continent. Trade and relations between the two nations have only strengthened with the passage of time. The Inciting Incident: The Veridian Ambassador to Arcanith, Elthar Vayne, has died. In the wake of his death, his son Ellias has been appointed to replace him; a choice wrought with controversy as Ellias is not a follower of Aphos, but a mage schooled from childhood in Arcanith's institutions. Now, as the ceremony to finalize the appointment looms, rumors of dissent among the more extreme orthodox sects of the Twilight Order are whispered in temples throughout the city. You now find yourself at the ceremony, your reasons for being there entirely your own. As the crowd fills the hall, you look upon the dais in anticipation, though nothing can prepare you for what is yet to come...

About me

I'm a writer and narrator, with about two years of experience with TTRPGs. My sessions are intended to provide an inclusive and welcoming environment for all players, with the added focus of crafting player-driven narratives through collaborative storytelling. Some additional information to help you decide if booking with me is right for you: -I have a professional background in creative writing and narration. -I primarily play Rules as Intended to maintain grounded, consequence-oriented gameplay. However, I want players to feel that they have the agency to make choices and take actions freely. If player has a specific action in mind outside the given rules, I work with them to create a fair ruling to facilitate that action. -I do not use any AI generated narrative content, stat blocks, encounter tables, or other gameplay assets. -Roleplay is encouraged, but it is not mandatory. I adjust my inflection to suit the situation, but I do not utilize character voices. My players are welcome to use voices/accents, as long as they are kept respectful.

Character creation

Creating your character

Players will create a Character at Level 1 by following the guidance in the Core Rulebook on Demiplane Nexus. Digital Core Rulebook access is included with this Campaign. Players will work together to answer Connection Questions alongside their fellow players during Session 0.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Create Free Demiplane, Roll20, and Discord accounts. Link your Roll20 and Demiplane accounts through Roll20. All dice rolls and combat encounters are conducted in Roll20 using Demiplane Character Sheet Integration. Join the Discord server. (Link is provided upon joining the Campaign.) Request Digital Core Rulebook access from the GM. Familiarize yourself with Chapters 1 and 2 of the Core Rules, and the Campaign Information present in the Discord server. Create a Level 1 Character following the Core Rules on Demiplane. These characters will be integrated into Roll20 during Session 0.

What GM Aetheric brings to the table

Core Rules access is provided to players through Demiplane Nexus. Games are hosted on Roll20, utilizing Demiplane Character Sheet integration, with Discord for player communication. Players should expect engaging roleplay alongside exciting combat encounters in a relaxed atmosphere, intended to keep the game accessible to everyone. Gameplay is primarily Rules as Written/Intended to maintain a teaching focused environment. But don't worry, Daggerheart has the Rule of Cool built in! While Combat is a featured element of Daggerheart, not every conflict needs to be resolved that way. The GM will actively encourage players to define their own desired outcome, and aid them in working towards it through the actions they take. The GM changes their tone and inflection to suit the needs of a scene, but does not do character voices. Players are welcome to do voices/accents, as long as they are kept respectful. The GM will not use AI generated narrative or game assets, such as stat blocks/artwork.

Detailed Campaign Frame information is provided in the Discord upon joining and gone over in detail during Session 0. Players are given a magic item for a Trait increase of their choosing in addition to normal starting gear.
