About the adventure
This beginner-friendly story is built to ease new players into the game. You’ll explore the quiet seaside town of Otari, follow clues beneath the old fishery, and face the strange creatures hiding below. The adventure naturally teaches the basics of PF2e as you play, things like how actions work, how to use your skills, and how to work as a team in combat. It’s welcoming, simple to follow, and perfect for anyone trying the game for the first time. Step into Otari and become the heroes the town has been waiting for!

About me
Hello fellow nerds! I’m Gambit and I’ve been deep in the tabletop RPG world for about 10 years now, mostly behind the GM screen. I started off with D&D 5e, but these days Pathfinder 2e has completely stolen my time. The detailed rules and build options scratch the same itch as good storytelling for me. I love digging into the numbers and systems just as much as I love roleplaying interesting characters or crafting adventures for my players. Whether it’s a social scene, a tough boss fight, or a night that goes completely off the rails, I’m all about making sure everyone’s having a great time at the table.

Creating your character
When: Character creation will begin during Session 0 and continue asynchronously on Discord. This allows everyone time to discuss concepts, backgrounds, and questions. Tools: We’ll use the Pathbuilder app to build characters digitally, which helps track stats, abilities, and feats efficiently. Starting Level: All characters will begin at level 1 Stats: We’ll discuss ability score generation methods during Session 0, including point buy, standard array, or rolling (if preferred by the group). Any final adjustments will be made collaboratively to ensure balance. Backgrounds & Themes: Players are encouraged to bring ideas for character motivations, connections to Otari, and possible links to other party members. This will help integrate characters into the story from the very beginning.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Join the Discord server – I'll send a link via message. Familiarize themselves with Pathbuilder – This will be the main tool for building and tracking characters. Players don’t need to fully master it before Session 0, but exploring it in advance can make character creation smoother. Think about character concepts – Encourage ideas for character backgrounds, motivations, and possible connections to other party members. This will help integrate everyone into the story. Alternatively I can provide pre-made characters that you can slot your own personal backstory onto if you'd like.
What Gambit brings to the table
As your GM, I will provide: Maps – Detailed maps of locations, dungeons, and key areas for immersive exploration. Art & Music – Visual and auditory elements to enhance the atmosphere during sessions. Explanations and Answers to any questions regarding the system and the rules, along with a guiding hand to encourage exploring said rules. Session 0 – A free session dedicated to character creation, discussing campaign expectations, and answering questions so everyone is ready to start at level 1.

How Gambit creates a safe table
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, I will be using several tools and practices: Session 0 – A dedicated session to discuss boundaries, content preferences, and expectations before gameplay begins. Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist – A structured way to identify topics that players are comfortable with and any content to avoid. Debriefing – After intense or emotional sessions, we’ll take time to talk about what happened, check in with players, and address any concerns. Breaks – Players can request breaks at any time during sessions to step away or decompress without pressure.
