About the adventure
We will be playing the intro adventure for the new system, Rapture Protocol. Rapture Protocol is a complete cinematic adventure for ALIEN The Roleplaying Game Evolved Edition. It is a stand-alone adventure but also serves as the first installment of the Jeremiah Saga trilogy. The adventure is designed for 3–5 players plus the Game Mother and returns to the roots of the ALIEN franchise, featuring the crew of a small star freighter on a resupply run to the remote Jeremiah VI industrial colony, soon embroiled in a deadly conflict.

About me
As a Gen X Game Master with experience stretching back to 1988, my style is rooted in the golden age of tabletop gaming—when imagination, story, and collaboration ruled the table. I bring a blend of classic storytelling and modern pacing, drawing on decades of systems and genres to craft experiences that feel both nostalgic and fresh. My games balance deep lore and cinematic action, encouraging players to immerse themselves in character and world alike. Whether running pulp adventure, dark fantasy, or Lovecraftian horror, your focus is on shared storytelling, memorable moments, and player agency—the hallmarks of the old-school table brought forward into today’s playstyle. My GMing philosophy emphasizes fun, flow, and flexibility. Rules serve the story, not the other way around, and every session is about creating a memorable narrative together. I watched RPGs evolve from graph paper dungeons to narrative-driven epics, and I know how to pull the best from every era—balancing structured challenge with freeform creativity. For me, tabletop gaming isn’t just a pastime; it’s a lifelong craft built on connection, laughter, and the joy of seeing players light up when the dice hit the table.

How Matt Orr creates a safe table
🎲 Safety Summary: Using the Monte Cook RPG Checklist Safety tools ensure everyone at the table has fun, feels respected, and enjoys the story together. The Monte Cook Games RPG Safety Checklist helps players communicate what’s okay, what’s not, and what needs care. Here’s how we’ll use it: 1. Before the Game – Establish Boundaries We’ll review the Safety Checklist together before play begins. Each player can mark topics as: ✅ OK – Comfortable including or exploring in play. ⚠️ Careful – Fine to include but only with limits or fade-to-black moments. ❌ No-Go – Off-limits entirely; not to appear in the story. This allows everyone to set personal comfort levels without judgment or pressure. 2. During the Game – Ongoing Consent Safety is an ongoing conversation. Players can use: X-Card or Pause – To stop a scene immediately if it crosses a line. Open Door Policy – Anyone can step away for a break, no questions asked. Lines and Veils – Clear reminders of what’s off-screen or avoided altogether. The goal is to support immersion without compromising anyone’s comfort. 3. After the Game – Check-In At the end of each session, we’ll do a quick Stars & Wishes / Debrief: ⭐ What worked well and felt fun or engaging. 💭 What could be adjusted for comfort or tone. Feedback keeps the game healthy, respectful, and enjoyable for all. 4. Respect and Trust This isn’t about limiting creativity — it’s about building trust and emotional safety. Everyone has the right to say “no” and still feel fully included in the game.
