About the adventure

North Bay Jail is a maximum security prison in the epinomous city. A few days ago there was an attack, and several inmates and security guards were killed. The attackers sprayed the locations of the shootings in a very unprofessional way, and freed one prisoner. However, the escaped prisoner was caught, so at the end of the day, every body and everything was accounted for. So what really happened here? Was it a botched jailbreak? Was it about something else? So far, no-one knows, and two federal agents (the PCs) are tasked with finding out what happened, despite official pressure to bury the case to prevent further political embarassment. How deep are you willing to dig? And at what price? The setting is going to include supernatural phenomena, without the PCs knowing any of it initially.

About me

I got into roleplaying by chance about 30 years ago. One of my friends insisted on teaching it to me, and I promised him in spite of not liking the idea. One day, we were at the beach with a group of friends, and he suddenly pulled the AD&D 2e PHB out of his bag and said 'Ok, let's play'. I was actually angry with him for embarassing me in front others, but I got lost in the game within minutes. Since then, I've tried a huge amount of games, I have a frightening amount of purchased pdf's on my hard drive, and here I am, preparing to be a professional GM.

What György brings to the table

🔍 clue gathering system, making sure you get what's necessary to not get stuck, but with tons of optional clues for useful / disturbing / weird clues 🔍 pressure level choice: how hard do you push (potential) witnesses? = how far are you willing to go to get what you want? 🔍 several hazardous sources: each roll for getting clues involves a roll on a random encounter table 🔍 social skills will matter a lot, both with witnesses and colleagues 🔍 graded outcome of many rolls, not just success / failure 🔍 this is initially a quest-based finite (if rather long) story, but it may continue indefinitely if there's mutual interest
