About me

Call me Oginme, OG, or Cliff. I have been playing D&D since 1978 and ran my first homebrewed adventures two years later. I put the game aside for a couple of decades to focus on career and family. Then my son asked for a Dungeons and Dragons set for his birthday and asked me to create a campaign for him and his friends. I went on to DM for two additional groups who had been abandoned by their DMs and we went on to run campaigns lasting well over two years. A decision to leave a demanding and unrewarding job handed me an opportunity to take on running games and campaigns professionally. The term professional is not one I use lightly. I have read many books, listened to many live streams, and practiced at improv and writing to improve my skills. My constant stream of imagination and flight of fantasy are activated when DMing games of DnD. I continually work to improve my delivery, voicing, and improv skills. When not playing, planning, or creating for my games, I have a small herd of LaMancha dairy goats, plant an extensive garden, play guitar, read and listen to a whole lot of books, study a variety of subjects, and cook.

Character creation

Creating your character

Oginme will provide pre-made character sheets for you to choose from after you sign up or at the start of the game.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need an account on Roll20 to access the character sheets, roll dice, and view maps. A Discord account is needed for voice and communication. You will need a computer, headset and microphone are highly recommended.

What Oginme brings to the table

I have custom maps for the adventure. Ambient sounds and music will provide some background sounds. Pre-generated characters will be available to allow us to plunge into the game quickly and learn while playing. You will have the choice of Cleric, Fighter, Rogue, or Wizard and then can choose between Dwarf, Elf, Halfling, or Human. We will be playing with the basic free rules for D&D 5e 2024 and I will provide a link to that documentation. Reading it beforehand is NOT a requirement. I have several handouts to help guide you within the game accessible both inside the game and downloadable for your future use. If you are not familiar with Roll20, I will give a quick guide around the virtual table top to show you how to access the controls you need.
