About the adventure

Something colossal drifts through the void, a god dead for untold centuries. The few worlds it consumed that survived lie in fragments, and their people carve lives in the impossible husk it left behind. A corpse of power and ruin — yet life persists where only death should reign. Within the immense hollows, factions rise and alliances shift, every action echoing through the endless decay. Power is measured in patience and cunning; betrayal waits in shadowed corridors, and the slightest misstep can unravel years of ambition. The very flesh around them shapes the conflicts they wage, bending, collapsing, or opening in ways that are never predictable. Here, survival demands strategy, ruthlessness, and an awareness that nothing is permanent—except the ever-present weight of the dead god. The god’s flesh hums with ancient power, shifting the spaces within it in ways impossible to predict. Traces of long-swallowed civilizations haunt the corridors, having left their mark on the husk itself. Those who venture too far risk being swallowed by its curves, trapped by its folds, or drawn into its hidden depths. Every step resonates through the colossal corpse, a reminder that the dead god’s presence still shapes the lives of all who dwell within.

About me

I’m Myles, a Game Master with 11 years and 4,000+ hours of tabletop experience, running in-person and online games without pause. I build dark, gritty, high-drama worlds full of unique gods, political intrigue, and realistic consequences. My longest campaign lasted five years, and moments like a battle against a titan who was also a world’s moon still linger in my mind. I run mostly theater-of-the-mind, using maps and resources for complex battles, and I “yes, and” player choices to let them shape the story. Players often say they feel part of something epic—a standard I aim for every session. I work exclusively in D&D 5e homebrew, drawing mechanics as needed, but I’ve also run Pathfinder 3e, D&D 2e–5e, Shadowrun, Cyberpunk 2077, and more. I favor epics, horror, politics, and character-driven stories. Comedy rarely appears because I take stakes seriously. Tabletop RPGs are more than games: they let you explore choices, test morality, and grow empathy. I build stories with a moral core—a lens for self-reflection through the characters you embody. Bring dice, imagination, and maybe a meat-stick snack or energy drink, and let’s create a world that lingers long after the session ends.

Character creation

Creating your character

We’ll create characters together during Session Zero. Characters start at level 3. Use the standard array for stats. Reference books will be shared via D&D Beyond. If you want help homebrewing a particular idea, just let me know.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Accounts: Make a D&D Beyond account (for character creation and reference). Join the campaign Discord server (for communication and resources). Have access to Owlbear Rodeo / Roll 20 we (we will discuss format at session 0) Software/Tools: Make sure you have a web browser ready for D&D Beyond. Materials: Have basic character notes ready: race, class, background ideas. Review the Player’s Handbook or other relevant D&D Beyond references. Optional Prep: Think about story goals or character motivations you want to explore. If you want, come with homebrew ideas for discussion during Session Zero.

What Myles brings to the table

Game Style & Storytelling: The campaign is dark, morally gray, and politically tense, with moments of creeping dread and subtle threats. I emphasize story immersion: expect evocative descriptions, character voices, and ambient music to set the mood. Roleplay is encouraged—your choices will have real consequences in the world. Mechanics & Combat: Combat can be intense and tactical, but I also embrace the Rule of Cool when it makes the story more exciting. I use homebrew rules in addition to standard D&D mechanics. These rules will be explained and shared clearly before they affect gameplay. Character creation and progression may include some custom options to better fit the world and narrative. Resources & Tools: I provide maps, handouts, reference sheets, and music playlists to enhance gameplay. Sessions will be run primarily over [VTT/Discord setup], with all references accessible via D&D Beyond.

Homebrew rules

Exhaustion on Being Downed: When a character is reduced to 0 HP, they gain a point of exhaustion, representing the physical and spiritual toll of surviving in this world. Potions as a Bonus Action: Characters can use healing potions or similar consumables as a bonus action, speeding up combat and survival. Magic Corruption: Drawing magic from the dead god carries inherent risk. Overuse can lead to madness, bodily changes (cracked skin, glowing blue veins), or blindness.

Safety

How Myles creates a safe table

I always begin with a Session 0 to talk about what each person wants—and doesn’t want—from the campaign. We set boundaries together before the first roll of the dice. During play, I schedule 5–15 minute breaks every two hours (or sooner if needed) and keep an open-door policy so anyone can step away at any time. After each session, we hold a brief debrief to share highlights, air concerns, and discuss what worked or didn’t.
