About the adventure
This is a game that focuses primarily on investigating supernatural cases involving the creatures known as vaesen, creatures from folk and myth, that only you and your allies in The Society can see and interact with. The game has a very gothic feel, coupled with strands of mythology woven throughout. It is a game where you amass clues through RP and investigations to uncover the type of vaesen causing trouble - but also the underlying cause of the vaesen's discontent. You're often called upon to make difficult decisions about who the real culprit are, and to research and execute rituals to banish the vaesen when needed. Each case in this series in unique and different, and can be played by any mix of players and characters.

About me
I teach in College, and it always astounds me that I've been playing ttrpgs for longer than my students have been alive - by a lot. That's over thirty years of rolling dice and creating worlds and making funny voices at a table surrounded by friends! I've mostly been a GM or DM for most of those, and creating worlds, writing adventures, and sharing them with a group of people who then get to make them their own and take them in totally unexpected directions has been one of my great joys. I currently stream several games on Twitch with Folk&Myth, the AP Production studio I co-founded. You can find all my work on twitch or YouTube (links on my webpage). I love creating a sense of discovery and wonder in my games, and always strive to surprise players. I prefer RP-heavy games, though I also believe that combat and conflict resolved through tactics or dice-rolls can be a great source of fun, and add a great dynamic to any game. My strengths are imagination, NPC role-play, my sense of humor, and my ability to keep surprising players. As a teacher, I also have a strong sense of conflict resolution, and the ability to help guide along people with less experience. I strive to create meaningful games, rich in atmosphere and engaging themes. I strongly believe in a sense of equality and respect around my table, and provide safety tools to help us all better enjoy our gaming moments. TTRPGs are all about a shared sense of creation and storytelling, where we empower each other around the table to create meaningful and emotional connections. I invite both players new to the hobby, as well as veterans, to come join me on some fun adventures! I specialize in the following games: Vaesen, Blade Runner, Lord of the Rings 5e, Shadowrun 3rd, Kult: Divinity Lost, Dragonbane, D&D 5E, as well as a host of others. I'm always happy to learn a new system for special requests! Find me here: https://linktr.ee/TheBleakseason

Creating your character
Players will be provided with a number of pre-generated characters to choose from - or may opt to make their own. Vaesen is a very easy system and very quick for character creation. I will provide everything you need to create your character. You can even keep your character and re-use them in different cases!
All Vaesen archetypes can function - you're all part of The Society, a group devoted to investigating cases that involve the supernatural, mythical beings known as vaesen - creatures only you and your colleagues can see, but who are very real!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Upon signing-up, I will ask that players provide me with a Discord handle, and join my Discord. From there, I will provide all pertinent information on our game, and the players can meet each other. Players may need to access Owlbear Rodeo, but do not need to prepare anything for that.
What Bleakseason (Folk & Myth/VtM Montreal) brings to the table
Vaesen is primarily a game on RP and investigation, and features very little combat. I will provide access to my Discord, visual aids, maps through Owlbear Rodeo, all the rules needed to play the game (along with cheat sheets and character sheets). All the players need are a handful of d6. I also play music during the game - and all of this is done primarily through Discord.
Homebrew rules
I have a homebrew rule called The Devil's Luck - when players roll three 6s, they receive a Mark they can later use to get bonuses on rolls or avoid penalties.

How Bleakseason (Folk & Myth/VtM Montreal) creates a safe table
Players will outline their lines and veils, and we will use an in-game color system that allows players to indicate how they are feeling about a scene, and check in with other players.
