About the adventure
"Dolmenwood? Well, let me tell ye, everything you ever heard about the Wood is true and everything you ever heard is false. Dreams and fairies walk between standing stones and dancing trees, slipping in and out of the mortal world as easily as you or I slip through an open door. It’s right pretty though. Dare I say, beautiful even. All manner of enchantment lingers beneath its boughs. It’ll capture your heart if ye let it. And that sounds as lovely as a song until you realize the Wood’ll never, ever give it back without paying the proper cost.” —Ogham Tweede, bartender You and your companions will be drawn into the intrigues and adventures surrounding this enigmatic woodland. In this campaign you might: ♦️ Ally with a noble house and take part in the intrigue and political tension plaguing the human realms. ♦️ Strike back against those spreading corruption, and protect the enchanted forest from an invading force. ♦️ Find yourself entangled in millennia old struggles between the ancient fey. ♦️ Restore lost shrines and fabled sites hidden deep within the woods. ♦️ Support a faction and influence what the ultimate future holds for the Dolmenwood. Tone and Feel: Rustic, Adventurous, Magical, Enigmatic Themes: Law vs Chaos, Nature vs Order, War, Rebellion, Intrigue, Adventure Touchestones: The Green Knight, Legend, The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, and Grimm's Fairy-Tales.

About me
Hi there, I'm Casey. If you enjoy mystery, a little horror, and a focus on roleplay and engagement, one of my games might be for you. I've been involved in this awesome hobby since the early nineties and have yet to grow tired of it. In that time, I've moved away from crunchy, tactical games to character focused stories, because for me, it's best when everyone can collaborate and 'play to see what happens.' Whether it's a long running game, like our 4.5 year Vampire campaign that spanned centuries, taking players from freshly embraced noobs to infamous elders, or a one-shot of Call of Cthulhu designed to introduce new players to the game, your input as players is what keeps things interesting and engaging for everyone. And connecting with the wide and diverse players that have joined my games makes it all that much better! 🎲 If you see a game that interests you, but the time slot doesn't work, message me. I might be able to accommodate. 🎲

Creating your character
♦️ Daggerheart is D&D re-imagined: A character driven adventure game that focuses as much on role-play as heroic combat. ♦️ During Session 0, we'll create our characters and lay out some of the defining features of our campaign. We'll flesh out the cultures and origins of the PCs, develop relationship between them and the goal they all share, and place them all in the same settlement before launching the campaign. The following Ancestries are appropriate to the Dolmenwood setting: ♦️ Elf: Ageless fey who rule the Fairy realm, those who've crossed over follow a passion seldom shared with those they don't trust implicitly. Elves are a diverse people from a wide array of fey realms reflected in their varying complexions and features that mark them clearly as non-human. ♦️ Faerie: Originating the undying world of Fairy, these PCs have chosen to live in the mortal world without a direct means of return. They carry an enchanting otherworldiness about them that animals find discomfiting. Generally, faerie don't fully comprehend the earnest undertakings of mortal beings, and many find them absurd or comical. ♦️ Faun: Sometimes called goatfolk, longhorns, or hregl, Fauns have inhabited the Wood for centuries and were once the masters of the realm. Ancient noble houses now rule beside humans and swear fealty to the Duke of Brackenwald. Their horn length indicates their social standing. ♦️ Fungril: Gnarled and woody folk with green, yellow, or brown skin wrinkled like bark, beards and hair that resembles moss, ferns, and tangled roots, and covered in lichen and fungus. The older they are, the more plant-like they appear. Fungril are native forest dwellers, hailing from the darkest parts, and hidden caves of Dolmenwood. ♦️ Goblin: Goblins, or Woodgrue, migrated from Fairy long ago, their people now leading a nomadic life in the woods, constructing small shelters high up in the trees, or leading happily settled lives in human villages. These small, bat-faced folk preserve a culture of revelry and music, often called to moots deep in the wood where they may join with other fey for wild seasonal celebrations. ♦️ Human: Human settlements abound in the Wood, and their noble families rule the realm alongside the firbolg. Although staunch followers of the widespread Pluritine Church, many rural folk also hold to the traditions of the Green Man, a being of feasting, revelry and hunting. ♦️ Other Ancestries: The Dolmenwood holds many small settlements of animal folk of all kinds. Ribbits, Galapa, Firbolgs, Katari, and Simiah are all present, albeit rare. Dwarfs are not native to the area, but not completely unknown. The other ancestries are too far afield from the tone of this campaign to be appropriate choices.
