About the adventure
Wildemount Winter is a customized adventure set in the Critical Role world of Exandria. It is a loose adaptation of the published short adventures of "Snowed In" and "Frozen Sick", where our fledgling heroes seek passage to Eiselcross, a mysterious land of adventure and rumored fortune in the isolated north. But before the journey truly begins, an encounter in Icehaven uncovers a chilling secret sending our party on a race against time, rival factions, and the elements themselves. In a land where civilized influence wanes and ancient powers stir beneath the ice, survival demands diplomacy, cunning, and courage. The north does not forgive mistakes—and the deeper you go, the stranger it gets.

Creating your character
We'll play on using D&D Beyond to create characters and D&D Beyond Maps VTT for encounters and rolling. We'll start at level 2 with Standard Array attributes and Fixed HP. Nearly every D&D Class or Species can find a place in Exandria, though there are some specific options available in the Exandria campaign setting that may tie in more appropriately. No Homebrew or Unearthed Arcana/playtest material, but if you have an idea for something from one of the official books that's unusual, let the GM know and we may find a way to incorporate it/balance it for the setting. If you're flexible, we can probably figure it out!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We'll be running our sessions with a low technical learning curve, using a combination of Discord and D&D Beyond to create characters and D&D Beyond Maps VTT for encounters and rolling. All invites and links, including set up instructions and quick start guides will be provided upon booking. If you are new to those tools, don't worry! We can walk you through it and get you into the game quickly and easily!
What BrokenUnicorns brings to the table
I try to stay consistent with Rules as Written for a even-handed game, but lean into Rule of Cool when it makes for a more fun experience. I play my NPCs with unique voices and characterization to make them stand out. And while we have tactical maps and handouts to help set the scene, I try not to be limited by the tools and use Theater of the Mind when needed to help my players feel like an active part of the world.
