About the adventure

Glory!!!!! 📜 Campaign Overview Welcome to Mahalia a young but ambitious region that’s redefining what it means to be a Pokémon Trainer. It’s a land where ancient gladiatorial traditions meet modern university life. Here, Pokémon battles aren’t just a sport — they’re a lifestyle, an academic pursuit, and a path to greatness. You are one of the newest students at one of Mahalia’s prestigious universities, a rising participant in the Pokémon Collegiate Battle Conference (PCBC) the interregional league that crowns the strongest collegiate battlers in the world. Your goal? To rise through the Crucible system, prove your worth to your school and your region, and carve your name into League history. But Mahalia is more than just classrooms and coliseums. Beneath the stadiums lights and roaring crowds lies a world of politics, intrigue, and discovery from powerful regional monarchs to the mysterious Superior Nine who oversee all Champions. Each battle you fight brings you closer to glory… or closer to forces that might change the balance of the Pokémon world forever. 🎮 What You’ll Experience A fully original Pokémon tabletop story that blends collegiate sports drama, exploration, and high-stakes battles. Three core pillars: academic life, adventure beyond campus, and Pokémon battling. Modern-meets-rugged setting: Think late-80s/early-90s tech — steel, neon, ambition, and tradition colliding. Dynamic progression: rise from a freshman-tier battler to a varsity competitor with your team and school at your back. Player-driven narrative: your choices, alliances, rivals, moral stands shape how your university and region see you. Every player begins small with one Pokémon, a campus dorm, and a dream. But as you grow, so does your influence: from minor duels to PCBC regional tournaments, televised league matches, and maybe even a shot at a Superior’s recognition. 🌏 The World of Mahalia 10 regions, 1 conference: the PCBC governs all interregional university battles. Mahalia is the newest and most controversial region to join. Gladiatorial academia: universities are part campus, part arena, with ranking systems and rivalries that fuel national obsession. The Superior Nine & The Champion: the most powerful trainers alive, representing their regions and the dream of every rising student. The Crucible System: a merit-based ladder where battles earn reputation, credit, and rank across every division. 🕰️ Schedule & Flexibility Multiple listings of this campaign will be posted to accommodate different groups and time zones. About me

Hey, I’m Kevin! I’ve been playing tabletop RPGs for well over a decade now, and I’ve been running games for most of that time. I’ve done everything from one-shots to full-blown campaigns that have lasted for years. I’ve always loved the creative side of world-building — coming up with unique regions, stories, and systems that pull players in and make them feel like part of something alive. I’m a huge fan of Dungeons & Dragons, but I also have a soft spot for Pokémon and other fantasy worlds. Over the years, I’ve even built my own crossover systems that blend the best of both — classic D&D-style adventure with Pokémon mechanics and storytelling. As a Game Master, I focus on player choice, pacing, and atmosphere. I love seeing my players get invested in their characters and make meaningful decisions that shape the world around them. At the table (or online), I try to keep the energy high and the story flexible. Whether you’re a veteran player or brand new to RPGs, I do my best to make sure everyone feels comfortable, involved, and excited to see what’s around the next corner.

Character creation

Creating your character

Before the campaign officially begins, I’ll schedule a short Session Zero with each player individually. This will be a relaxed one-on-one meeting where we’ll review your character, clarify their background, personality, motives, and goals. Think of it as a creative collaboration:(Also this private one-on-one session will not be charged You will only get charged for the session that you play.) you bring your vision, and I help make sure it works mechanically and narratively within the setting. we will be using the game will use the PTU 1.05 core rulebook. During this session, we’ll finalize: -Your Trainer Character (starting at Level 1) -Your Starting Pokémon (beginning at Level 5) -Your starting Pokémon must have the Underdog trait and it should ideally be part of a three-stage evolutionary line. If you have a specific Pokémon in mind that doesn’t fit those parameters, just talk to me about it beforehand. I’m always open to discussion, and we can work something out together if it makes sense for your story or personality concept.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We will be using Foundry VTT so I'll take care of everything on that end but we will be using Discord to communicate vocally.

Safety

How Kevin Carter creates a safe table

Player comfort and safety are top priorities at my table. Before the campaign begins, I’ll provide a Lines and Veils document (Google Form or shared link) so everyone can set clear boundaries around themes or topics they don’t want in the game. We’ll start with a Session 0 to cover expectations, tone, house rules, and how we’ll handle mature or sensitive material. During this session, we’ll also discuss each player’s comfort level with character conflict, romance, or intense scenes, and review how to use safety tools.
