About the adventure

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will be handled before the first session. either during a 0 session or in the DMs before hand. We will create characters on Foundry though you are open to using DNDBeyond as well. 3rd party sources will be discussed later, but some 3rd party sources I use are Kobold Press's Tome of Heroes and Mage Hand Press's Valda's Spire of Secrets and Dark Matter. All official 5e WOTC sources are allowed.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need to join a discord server, which will be dmed to you, and have a working microphone. Besides a discord account and a microphone, nothing else is required.

What John brings to the table

The goal in my games is always fun, for everyone. I provided voices for characters, silly or serious, even if my voice acting isn't the best. I also provide music to provide ambiance in the background. I for the most part stick to the rules, but rule of cool is always an option. And for combat I usually provide a balanced experienced, but I will say for boss battles I try to make them intense but fun!

Homebrew rules

Healing Potions for yourselves and allies area a bonus action. However, if you use an action to take a potion you gain the FULL effect of a healing potion, maxing the roll of a dice (example instead of healing 2d4+2 for a healing potion, you heal a flat 10). You have session inspiration. That means for the session you have one inspiration dice you can use at anytime. You have the possibility to get another one if you do something cool. However these inspiration dice do not carry over and reset back to one each session. Can give session inspiration to other players. First ASI at level 4, ya’ll get both ASI and feat. But only the first class that reaches level 4 gets this benefit! You choose to roll for hp, or take the average, but must choose before rolling. In addition, you may reroll 1’s. You have attunements slots equals to your proficiency bonus. Start off with less, but wind up with more.
