About the adventure

You are trapped. There is no getting out. From inside a pocket dimension, within a extra dimensional space, inside a pocket dimension (A God did it. No Bag of holding mishaps.) You find yourself a captive in an arena. You have an implant inside you in a vital part of your species anatomy. It emits a powerful sleep effect upon activation, enough to not only knock you out, but probably those around you too. The implants only activate when people are trying to escape. You have learned it is simply not worth trying. You can earn reputation, gold, and even magic items. Live a life of luxury if you are successful within the Arena. Or live a life of squalor and earn a poor reputation, squander any earnings you get, and never have enough of what you want. The choice is yours! There are two variations that exist within the Arena. There is the Colosseum variant and the Labyrinth. The Labyrinth is a race against the clock to explore as far as possible within the Labyrinth to find the special item the Goddess Cheatess has sent you after. The Colosseum is where you will pit your characters up against tough foes in a large 240ft diameter arena with variant types, Forest, Lava, Ice, Water, Sky, and Desert. Game Details Level Progression 1-20 via Experience Orion Sphere Arena is an ongoing one-shot. So it is not like your traditional one shot. It has about an hour of prep, which includes character fine-tuning, shopping, betting, and pre-fight buffs (if applicable). Then there is about 15 minutes of Meat Mech Maintenance while I prepare the arena or labyrinth. Then there is fighting for 1-10+ rounds (Average 3ish, Time depending). After session you get gold from your bets and experience that carries over to future sessions. First session is more about survival, every subsequent session is more about working towards your gear set and gaining levels. About me

Under "United Game Masters", I am the DM of serveral games. I have been running Dungeons and Dragons games almost two decades. I take my time customizing each adventure with story lines and subplots that aren't found in the officially published material. As a result, even people who have read the material or previously played or run it will enjoy a unique experience that isn't found anywhere else. My game preparation is a key component. I spend a lot of time reading and familiarizing myself with campaign material well in advance. I then review the key points that will likely be relevant during a session prior to play, all while interweaving character backstories into the written material to keep things interesting on an individual level. Jeremy Crawford, Wizard of the Coast's-rule master encourages people to play D&D with RAF (Rules As Fun) in mind. There are many situations where I will place RAF over RAW (Rules As Written). Creativity is always appreciated and rewarded. Role-playing is encouraged, but isn't required. Beginners are encouraged to apply, and will be welcomed into our gaming community with open arms. I am fully aware that my role is to ensure that everyone has not only a fun experience, but also a safe one. I take that responsibility very seriously. Player Reviews Wings Seifer is a wonderful DM. I have been playing with him for over a year now! He excels at creating incredible combat experiences that hold meaning. He puts an immense amount of work into his story creation, bringing the world to life and enrapturing each PC in engaging and personalized story moments! Myself DMing for years he has reminded me and continues to do so daily of the FUN that can be held as a player!! It’s been a great experience! 10/10! Highly recommend! Brainlet The DM was an absolute charm to play with. He was very dedicated to balancing encounters, even making adjustments at the very last second. Very worth paying his p2p fee. Freyr The DM is amazing. He is always very well prepared and very understanding if you have to miss a session. He uses the money he receives to buy books and modules on roll 20 so that the compendium can be used. The difficulty rating of his encounters are the perfect balance between challenging and fun. I was never willing to pay for an online DnD game until I met this DM. Shane E. I have been with Seifer from his first 5E module session going on 6 years ago now, and the transformation he has gone through from ground zero to today has been phenomenal. His ability to change and have fun with the players shenanigans, to helping a new player learn the ropes is uncanny. He was able to take me from table to online with ease, not to mention his ability to set the environment and play a fair and balanced game is truly an experience of its own. Felix T. The GM is very meticulous his game preparation is absolutely amazing. He flawlessly incorporates combat and roleplay. You will definitely have opportunities to explore your character. You will use aspects of your character that most gm's ignore. He is one of the best DMS I have ever had the pleasure of playing with and I started playing with 2nd Edition.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation can happen up to 30 minutes prior to a session, or you can create a character during an active session for the arena that you are not actively playing in if you like, as long as you are respectful of the other players experience. As it is an arena environment, it is a great place to test character concepts you might have.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players should have at least a Discord account and a Microphone. Voice will be done through the Discord MUG Hub Waiting Room community for games. As it is a streamed session, the option to play while on camera exists, but is not mandatory (All Arena sessions are streamed via Twitch). Knowledge of the PHB Rules is a plus, but is not required. A royalty free image of their character is required for any streamed game. I usually recommend artists on Fivver, or perhaps even AI generated artwork. 35 minutes of Need to know information prior to play: [Orion Sphere Arena: Social Contract](https://youtu.be/Qbyf4YKNR5g) [Orion Sphere Arena: House Rules and Clarifications](https://youtu.be/DSQLbfhETYg) [Orion Sphere Arena: Inventory Management](https://youtu.be/wk7R9sYVgL0) [Orion Sphere Arena: NPC Guide](https://youtu.be/xzUF1pz-lu0)

What DMSei brings to the table

I bring to the table the campaign, or in this case, the Arena environment. All of the pre game preparation and professional Dungeon Master style and experience to the combat and puzzle encounters. I bring a wealth of 5e D&D knowledge with which I can craft on the fly encounters if needed.

Homebrew rules

Critical Success/Failure is only for attacking. It does not apply to skill checks or saving throws (with the exception of death saving throws). Meet is beat for AC. Rolling a 15 to hit an enemy AC of 15 will hit! Concentration is rules as written, Constitution save when hit to maintain. Please use the Concentration Token Marker when you cast a concentration spell. Inspiration - Everyone automatically has inspiration to start each session. After it is used, you can gain it back by either doing something amazing and cool, or an ally giving their inspiration to you. Inspiration MUST be declared before your roll if you are using it. Rolling hit die. We simply don't. Take your max hit die every level. (Plus CON mod and other relevant modifiers of course.) Non consensual PVP is forbidden. Healing Potions. Drinking a potion as a Bonus Action will net you a roll for effectiveness. Drinking a potion as an Action will give you full effect (No roll needed) Darkvision makes darkness into dim light. Dim light imposes a disadvantage on sight based perception checks, as well as a -5 to passive perception. Ability Checks and Saving Throws are to be rolled "Blind to GM" The Variant Rule "Flanking" is in play in this game. Monsters that Roll a 0 for initiative must spend their turn re-rolling their initiative until they get a 1 or higher. Surprised condition only applies to Surprise Rounds. DM determines a Surprise round at the start of combat and who is surprised. Alert Feat will prevent the Surprised condition when a character has it. Ready Action is a combat action. Only to be used in combat, not outside of combat. (stating you are "ready for combat" just prior to inititiative being called for will prevent you from being surprised. But it must be stated out loud or in chat, not assumed.) Potions, Poisons, and Tincture crafting has been added to this game. In-Game Journal entries exist to better explain them. Varient Encumbrance rules and Container items are in use in this game. Hero points - Every session you have 1-5 hero points. To be rolled automatically when you rest/new day. Safety

How DMSei creates a safe table

We have a publicly posted Social contract that players are expected to adhere to. A copy of the Contract will be posted here. However the House rules and clarifications are still within the original post. As a professional DM, it can be expected that I will run an adventure game in a fun and fair way. The Arena is unlike normal campaigns as there is little to no actual story involved. All the creatures have altered statistics as well, using a random table to determine their buffs/debuffs. Rule of Yes. In the world of Improv, they use a thing called the "rule of yes". Which is a guideline to help individuals keep an impromptu story flowing. It basically means to agree with an improvisational suggestion, and then build on it. As long as the suggestion does not starkly contrast your characters ideals of course. Respect goes four ways. From you to your fellow players. From your fellow players to you. From you to the Game Master. From the Game Master to you. We can show one another respect by listening to one another, supporting each other, and doing what we can to promote a fun and flowing story for eachother. Punctuality can be expected from the DM to the table for sure. But this goes both ways. The players are also expected to be on time for a session they have agreed to attend. Otherwise adjustments to the planned encounters, story and combat, likely become necessary, and it inconveniences everyone else involved. Life comes first. While punctuality is important. It is known and understood that life throws a curve ball every now and again. Should this happen, it would be appropriate to give as much notice as you are capable of giving that you will not be attending the next session. Limited topics. Any real world racial, gender, or spiritual discrimination is not acceptable, nor tolerated. Some examples of things expressed as lines that cannot be crossed include Child harm, Rape, Suicide, and pedophilia.
