Character creation

Creating your character

We will quickly create the characte on Foundry during our session 0. But you are more than welcome to arrive with ideas, built and backstory. I will be available before session 0 to discuss character with you if you need. Here are the guideline we will follow - Start at Level 1 - Use the Standard Array for ability scores - You may start with 100 GP and up to 2 common magic items - Material from large third-party publishers is permitted but subject to my approval - We will be using the 2024 rules

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You’ll need a Discord account to join the session. I’ll send you an invite link before the game. You don’t need a Foundry account. I’ll provide a direct link so you can connect when the game begins. I will provide a video explaining how Foundry works. You will need an internet connection and a microphone. Webcams are preferred, as they tend to make the game more immersive, but they are optional.

Safety

How Mikael G. Ste Marie creates a safe table

Player safety is very important to me, and I want everyone to feel welcome and comfortable during the game. Before we play, I’ll send you a short form to indicate what content is okay, what feels risky, and what topics are off-limits (using the Lines and Veils approach). I also use a Foundry module that allows players to discreetly signal if something feels uncomfortable during the session. Finally, I have a strict zero-tolerance policy against any form of player harassment or abuse.
