About the adventure

They told me the curfew was nothing to worry about. They told me that it didn't bare the Mayor's seal so it couldn't be enforced. My great aunt started freaking out when I was leaving, but everyone just assumed she was hearing the voices again. Did she know? It doesn't matter. I've been running for my life for what feels like forever, I don't know how much longer I can keep this up. Something's chasing me, I just know it. There's no way I'm going crazy, I can hear it! I can hear the cracks of the reigns and high pitched grunts of some invisible beast. I can hear the arrows whizzing right by my head. Why can't I see them? My shoes are soaked through with my own blood as I round the corner of my street. Just before I reach the door an arrow strikes me right in the back of the leg, sending me straight down on top of my face. I look toward my front door and begin crawling for my life. It is only when I feel my hunter put their foot on my back and hear a whisper of a melancholy elvish hunting song that I understand who enforces the curfew. The Shadow Fey are back. Welcome to Zobeck! The city of freedom which endured no tyrannical rule for long. Over the past thousand years, no tyrant nor hostile occupation of the city has been as violent or blood-filled as the first. Only spoken of in hush whispers, the mention of the Moonlit King still brings with it a fear that seems ingrained in the peoples of the entire region. The people fear the things that strike from the shadow, the things that exist with one foot into our world and one foot out. And as a subtle and refined fear begins to grip the city through the victims ancestors, the silent invasion begins. Who will you play in this adventure? Will it be a politician of the free city looking to negotiate with the high elven courts? A public hero of the people looking to rise up and stop this silent invasion? A thief looking for access into the ridiculously wealthy shadow courts? Anything could happen when the twilight crossings open up and fey pour out.

About me

Hey y'all! My name’s Nick, I’m 29 years old, and I've been running games professionally for about 7 years now. On the side I write and am in the process of publishing all the different stories and campaigns I've added to my games throughout the years. I charge 15$/session for a few reasons, I've found it leads to people being invested in the campaign, It allows me to afford the pro subscription to roll20, new campaigns, and the many different source books that have been published by so many different companies and amazing writers. It also allows me to follow my dream of getting all of my stories published! AND as a way for you to feel out the game and see if you like the style with which I run things I am offering the character creation session for free! Hope to see you guys there!

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will be done during the session zero which will happen before the start of the game. If you happen to join while the game is in progress, I'd be happy to have a personal session zero with you free of charge.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You won't need to do any work or anything like that beforehand, all you need to do is show up with somewhat decent internet, a mic, and some headphones. You'll also need an account on roll20 and discord.

What Nick Tyreman brings to the table

I bring a library of different source books and adventure supplements that I've acquired over my years running games, and I come with a lot of custom made maps and artwork of the things the party will come across and run into.

Homebrew rules

Drinking potions is a bonus action, although giving a potion to someone else is still an action. Flanking gives you advantage on your attacks, but doesn't work against an enemy two sizes bigger than you. As a paladin, you can smite on a ranged attack as long as you call the smite before you roll your attack roll. There may be one or two more, but nothing majorly impactful. And as far as which rule set you use that is up to you. For the base rules and conditions I use 2014 dnd rules, but when it comes to what class you are, or what spells you choose, you can either go 2024 or 2014, completely up to you.

How Nick Tyreman creates a safe table

I tend to balance out all the campaigns I run so it'll have a little bit of all the three pillars of dungeons & dragons; exploration, social interaction, and combat. A typical session would be starting out with an recap before we dive into the session, then about an hour and a half to two hours in we'll take a 5-10 minute break before diving in for the rest of the time. Then after the sessions over I usually hang around for another 10 or 15 minutes answering questions and talking about what happened. Session zero will happen before we start the campaign just so everyone can get a little bit of an intro to each others characters and so I can set the context of the campaigns and what the party will know going into it. Hello everybody, my name’s Nick. I’m 26 years old, and I have about 6 total years of DM’ing experience. I DM a lot of different adventures and I've been running games professionally now for about 4 years. I'm really excited to run this bad boy and plan to bring my own twist to it. Normally everything I run is set in Faerun and the Forgotten Realms, but the prospect of running something in the feywild is too intriguing. I can't help but get excited at the opportunity to have the fighter absolutely destroy pompous nobles in fancy duels, or have the barbarian or ranger show all the pretentious shadow court nobles how to actually hunt in their grand hunts.
