About me

Hey y'all. If you are looking to lose yourself into a world of action, suspense, and adventure, you've come to the right place. My name is Brian and I've been playing and running games for over four years. I got my start with D&D 5e and discovered other amazing systems over the years. Some of my favorite systems to run include Monster of the Week, Heart: The City Beneath, Spire: The City Must Fall, The Sprawl, and 5e When I'm not playing TTRPGs, I'm either doing my day job, playing video games, watching anime, reading manga, and reading the occasional book with almost exclusively words.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will do character creation during Session One, though you are welcome to brainstorm a concept in advanced. The only Playbook that's off the table is The Nomad. All other official Playbooks are fair game. If there's a fan Playbook that you really want to play, run it by me first.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

All I ask of you is to have a halfway decent mic and a Discord account. Facecam is optional.

What Brian brings to the table

This game will be hosted on a private Discord server. I have all the official books It should be noted that I'm not starting this game with any preconceived notion of what the campaign is going to be like. Part of Session Zero/One is discussing as a group what kind of game we want to play. Ya'll want to play a spy thriller style game where the team works for AEGIS? Heck yeah, I can work with that. You want to play a campaign where the team regularly travels through time? Awesome, sounds like a blast. Do you want to play a campy, over the top game that is reminiscent of Batman: The Brave and The Bold? I am 100% here for that. Masks is a collaborative RPG, and I intend to lean into that.

Safety

How Brian creates a safe table

Lines and Veils will be kept track of with a Google Sheet, which can be updated at anytime during the campaign. The reason the content warnings are a bit sparse is the game is going to aim to be PG-13. No darker than a standard MCU flick or DC Animated Movie, though I am open to having more serious story lines and tackling some heavier subjects. But at minimum, expect comic book violence, mass destruction, and the occasional death (though the teen heroes aren't killers) But of course, as always, no game is more important than the players; the comfort and safety of my players will always be my #1 priority.
