About the adventure
This campaign will give brand new players a great introduction to the basics of character creation and the basics of Dungeons and Dragons. I will take you on a journey from Level 1 through to Level 5 helping you every step of the way. You will undertake quests that will cover combat, roleplay and exploration and maybe slay the odd monster or two! I am encouraging new players to join me on an epic adventure in the setting of The Forgotten Realms. I have a history of onboarding new players to Dungeons and Dragons and hope you will give me a chance to take you an unforgettable journey.

About me
I have been DMing Dungeons and Dragons 5e for the last 4 years. I have been running near-weekly sessions for friends and family in 2 long-form campaigns, both times from Level 1 - Level 13. These both started with premade modules that evolved into homebrew campaigns continuing the story and taking these characters of a memorable and unforgettable journey. I have decided that I now want to take my games into the online space to experience this wonderful game with new players and hopefully sharing some fantastic and epic adventures on the way. So please if you're looking for adventure, step into my Tavern!

Creating your character
Characters should be created as Level 1 characters. 2024 5e rules will be in play so bear that in mind, but I will allow officially published other classes. However, I recommend if this is your first time playing to stick to the classes in the Players Handbook which will be available to players via my DnDbeyond account. The first half hour of session 1 will cover any questions around character creation.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
This campaign will be run via Discord and DnDbeyond maps. You will need a functioning microphone and a free DnDbeyond account.
What Sam brings to the table
I will provide you with a holistic DM approach. I will provide you with ambient music to set the scene for games. I will provide a dynamic and believable world that will evolve from the decisions you as players make. I will do voices for NPCs (sometimes badly) in an attempt to make the world come alive and make these characters memorable and recognisable. I will make combat challenging whilst ensuring you as the players continue to have fun. If I monster or villain is intelligent I will play them as such. I will always strive to let you and the dice tell the story, want to do something crazy? Ok, tell me how you want to achieve it and we shall let the dice see how successful you are. I am a firm believer in improvising with what my players give me, I don't like to say no so lets work together to create a memorable story!
Homebrew rules
I will be sticking with the 2024 rules for this campaign but I am more than willing to go with the rule of cool if something sounds feasible and the dice go in your favour!

How Sam creates a safe table
We will be making use of the X, N and O cards for this campaign, these can be played in voice chat, chat or over camera if you so wish to use one. I will chat with each player individually to confirm if there is any content that is a hard no so that we can tailor the content to suit.
