About the adventure

Every generation, when the twin moons align above the gilded city of Vylane, the Grand Cornucopia opens its gates. Forged in the image of the gods’ own bounty, the arena stands as a monument to glory, wealth, and blood. From across the realms, champions gather—knights seeking renown, mages craving legacy, and mercenaries chasing the roar of the crowd. In this place, survival is not the goal. Glory is. The Cornucopia’s sands are sacred and soaked in history. Its vast arena surrounds a monumental horn overflowing with arms, armor, and arcane artifacts—gifts for those bold enough to seize them. But the bounty is a lure as much as a prize, for every contestant knows the rules are simple: take what you can, slay who you must, and make the crowd remember your name. The Cornucopia rewards spectacle, not restraint. As the trumpets sound and the gates rise, alliances form and shatter in the same breath. You may find yourself shoulder-to-shoulder with a rival one moment and locked in a duel to the death the next. Traps, summoned beasts, and divine trials erupt from the sands as the gods themselves watch, judging every blow struck in their honor. Each choice you make—each drop of blood spilled—writes your legend into the arena’s legacy. Do you seek the eternal glory that outlives kings? Or will your story end as another crimson stain beneath the feast of plenty? Step into the light of the Grand Cornucopia, where heroes are crowned, the fallen are immortalized, and the world watches to see who dares to claim the Feast.

About me

Hi, I'm Amalthyon! You can also call me Oak. I'm a very player focused GM and enjoy relying on character backstory for big plot points and rely heavily on a network of safety tools to ensure everyone is comfortable and having a good time. Roleplay and dynamic combats are my bread and butter. Mystery and intrigue are my go to frameworks for plot, and combats usually have more than one objective. I love creating a safe space out of character that welcomes player characters to engage in emotionally intense scenes and conflicts. Aftercare and frequent check ins are key for providing the comfort and safety needed! I have over a decade of experience GMing dungeons and dragons. I started out with 3.5 when I was a teenager and moved to 5e shortly after it was published. I've been dabbling with the 2024 edition in home games since it was published as well, but 5e is really where I live. I also print and paint fully customizable minis, statuettes, and keepsakes! This is an additional optional feature. Shipping is free, ask me about sizes and pricing!

Character creation

Creating your character

Character Creation will be done in a one on one call with me (the DM) prior to the game. Characters will be level 15. Stats will be rolled on Roll20 (or DND Beyond) using the 4d6, drop the lowest method, with the option to reroll your lowest stat. You may choose to use standard array or point buy if opposed to rolling. Homebrew pitches are allowed with DM discretion. You can use DnD Beyond for character sheets instead as long as you use the Beyond20 plugin to show your rolls in Roll20. I would like to stream this game but if ANYONE is uncomfortable doing so, we will play as normal in private so don't let that discourage you from joining.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

To prepare, you'll need to have a Discord account for audio and general communications. I will provide a link for the Discord server we will use. You'll also need a Roll20 account, which we use for character sheets, maps, and handouts. I'll provide a link to join here as well. Optionally, you can use DND Beyond for your character sheet, provided you also use the Beyond20 plugin. I'll provide a link for the DND Beyond campaign as well. If we stream, you'll have to connect your Discord through FugiTech to link your character art with your voice in the stream. Further guidance can be given when we build characters if needed.

What Amalthyon brings to the table

I pride myself on creating a safe and inclusive environment to ensure the comfort of my players in order to encourage intense roleplay experiences. Balancing high stakes emotional scenes with comedic relief enables this. I enjoy creating unique and interesting NPCs, curating playlists for every occasion, utilizing various maps and handouts, and providing character art for key NPCs. I also print and paint fully customizable minis, statuettes, and keepsakes! This is an additional optional feature. Shipping is free, ask me about sizes and pricing!

How Amalthyon creates a safe table

Once you sign up for my games, I'll send over a link for my Lines and Veils document as the first line of defense. The data from this document will be compiled and provided to the table anonymously, posted in the game server, and reviewed in session 0. During play, I utilize a red yellow green safety deck in Roll20. Players can anonymously deal out a green card to encourage a scene to keep progressing, a yellow card to pause and move on from the scene, or a red card to indicate a full stop where we will take a short 10-20 minute break to reset before continuing. Players are always welcome to privately message me if they need to talk or want to adjust the lines and veils/provide feedback on what to avoid in the future. I like to wrap up a session with 15-20 minutes of open space to talk about anything anyone feels they need to talk about. Whether this is idle chatter to come down from the events of the game, talk over something that happened, compliment their fellow players, or anything else that might be on their mind.
